Evaluation of the Sensitivity of Medicane Ianos to Model Microphysics and Initial Conditions Using Satellite Measurements [PDF]
Tropical-like cyclone (TLC or medicane) Ianos formed during mid-September 2020 over the Southern Mediterranean Sea, and, during its mature stage on days 17–18, it affected southern Italy and especially Greece and its Ionian islands, where it brought ...

Speeded search of the periodic processes of dynamical systems
Modelling of periodic processes of electromagnetic devices is a complex problem. The task of finding of periodic solutions of nonlinear differential equations is more complex than the Cauchy task of integrating of these equations because it imposes ...

Sensitivity of simulating Typhoon Haiyan (2013) using WRF: the role of cumulus convection, surface flux parameterizations, spectral nudging, and initial and boundary conditions [PDF]
Typhoon (TY) Haiyan was one of the most intense and highly destructive tropical cyclones (TCs) to affect the Philippines. As such, it is regarded as a baseline for extreme TC hazards.

In this study, a high-resolution regional climate model (RegCM4) was used to forecast the daily soil temperature at a depth of 40 cm (hereafter ST40). The RegCM4 was downscaled by the Global Forecast System (GFS of one degree horizontal resolution) to 25

ANALYSIS OF AN EXTRATROPICAL CYCLONE IN THE SOUTHWEST ATLANTIC: WRF MODEL BOUNDARY CONDITIONS SENSITIVITY [PDF]
Meteorological conditions characterize the southern Brazilian coast a cyclogenetic area. The current study seeks to analyse the sensitivity of the WRF model to initial and boundary meteorological conditions in the simulation of an extratropical cyclone ...

The importance of moisture distribution for the growth and energetics of mid-latitude systems [PDF]
A primitive equation model is used to study the sensitivity of baroclinic wave life cycles to the initial latitude-height distribution of humidity. Diabatic heating is parametrized only as a consequence of condensation in regions of large-scale ascent.

Sensitivity to initial conditions in coherent noise models [PDF]
Sensitivity to initial conditions in the coherent noise model of biological evolution, introduced by Newman, is studied by making use of damage spreading technique. A power-law behavior has been observed, the associated exponent $α$ and the dynamical exponent $z$ are calculated. Using these values a clear data collapse has been obtained.

Identifying sensitivities in flood frequency analyses using a stochastic hydrologic modeling system [PDF]
This study employs a stochastic hydrologic modeling framework to evaluate the sensitivity of flood frequency analyses to different components of the hydrologic modeling chain.

Sensitivity of the frog model to initial conditions
El modelo Frog es un sistema de partículas que interactúa en un gráfico. Las partículas activas realizan caminatas aleatorias simples independientes, mientras que las partículas durmientes permanecen inertes hasta que son visitadas por una partícula activa.
