Exploring the Sensitivity of Prodromal Dementia with Lewy Bodies Research Criteria

open access: yesBrain Sciences, 2022
Dementia with Lewy bodies (DLB) is an insidious neurodegenerative disease characterised by a precipitous decline in cognition, sleep disturbances, motor impairment and psychiatric features. Recently, criteria for prodromal DLB (pDLB) including clinical features and biomarkers have been put forward to aid the classification and research of this ...

Metabolic effects of mangosteen supplementation as an adjuvant to sitagliptin/metformin in newly diagnosed type 2 diabetes Iraqi patients [PDF]

open access: yesPharmacia
Type 2 diabetes mellitus often remains inadequately managed despite effective oral treatments. Mangosteen (Garcinia mangostana), abundant in xanthones, including α-mangostin, may have metabolic and insulin-sensitizing properties; however, clinical data ...

Loss of AMP-Activated Protein Kinase-α2 Impairs the Insulin-Sensitizing Effect of Calorie Restriction in Skeletal Muscle

open access: yesDiabetes, 2012
Whether the well-known metabolic switch AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK) is involved in the insulin-sensitizing effect of calorie restriction (CR) is unclear.

Targeted modulation of IGFL2‐AS1 reveals its translational potential in cervical adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cervical adenocarcinoma patients face worse outcomes than squamous cell carcinoma counterparts despite similar treatment. The identification of IGFL2‐AS1's differential expression provides a molecular basis for distinguishing these histotypes, paving the way for personalized therapies and improved survival in vulnerable populations globally.
