Calibration of Heterogeneous Sensor Systems
Environment perception is a key component of any autonomous system and is often based on a heterogeneous set of sensors and fusion thereof for which sensor sensor calibration plays fundamental role. It can be divided to intrinsic and extrinsic sensor calibration.

Low‐cycle fatigue damage in Mn–Mo–Ni reactor pressure vessel steel is examined using a combined electron backscatter diffraction and positron annihilation lifetime spectroscopy approach. The study correlates texture evolution, dislocation substructure development, and vacancy‐type defect formation across uniform, necked, and fracture regions, providing

Digital methods to quantify sensor output uncertainty in real time
Modern data-driven applications that make real-time decisions increasingly depend on advanced sensors which use pre-stored calibration data. In such applications, accurate characterization of sensor output uncertainty is important for reliable data ...

A numerical–experimental framework is developed for characterizing multi‐matrix fiber‐reinforced polymers (MM‐FRPs) combining epoxy and polyurethane matrices. Harmonic bending tests are integrated with finite element model updating (FEMU) to simultaneously identify elastic and viscoelastic material parameters.

Low‐Angle Grain Boundaries and Re‐Segregation in Single‐Crystalline Ni‐Base Superalloys
This work demonstrates that Re‐segregation at low‐angle grain boundaries (LAGBs) in Ni‐base superalloys is influenced by misorientation angle. Advanced microscopy and atom probe tomography reveal that higher misorientation angles increases Re‐segregation.

Urban drainage models (UDMs) require observation data from sensors for calibration before managing urban floods. However, there is often the case that sensors are not available when model calibration is required, and hence sensor placing and model ...

Towards Defect Phase Diagrams: From Research Data Management to Automated Workflows
A research data management infrastructure is presented for the systematic integration of heterogeneous experimental and simulation data required for defect phase diagrams. The approach combines openBIS with a companion application for large‐object storage, automated metadata extraction, provenance tracking and federated data access, thereby supporting ...

Creating Ti–Fe α/β Alloys by Diffusion‐Driven Solid‐State Processing
This study proposes making alloys containing fast diffusing elements that are difficult to produce by ingot metallurgy, by diffusion‐driven solid‐state HIP processing of elemental powders and low‐temperature homogenisation. Here, novel Fe‐Ti α–β alloys are formed having fine α–β lamellae, a small β prior grain size without significant intermetallics ...
