Sensor calibration and simulation
SPIE Proceedings, 2008We describe a method for simulating the output of an image sensor to a broad array of test targets. The method uses a modest set of sensor calibration measurements to define the sensor parameters; these parameters are used by an integrated suite of Matlab software routines that simulate the sensor and create output images.

Tracker Endoscope Calibration and Body-Sensors’ Calibration
2009In general, when the sensors are mounted on a robot arm, one can use the hand–eye calibration algorithm to calibrate them. In this chapter, we present the calibration of an endoscopic camera with respect to a tracking system and the case of a mobile robot for that one has to calibrate the robot’s sensors with respect to the robot’s global coordinate ...

Calibrating Nonlinear Mobile Sensors
2008 5th Annual IEEE Communications Society Conference on Sensor, Mesh and Ad Hoc Communications and Networks, 2008In-field calibration of sensor devices is known to be a challenging problem because there is often no access to a controlled signal field and/or a pre-calibrated device to provide the ground truth. Nonlinear characteristics of sensor devices make the calibration problem even harder. In this paper, we describe two blind calibration schemes for nonlinear

This thesis was conducted in cooperation with Vectoflow GmbH. It addresses the development of an automated uncertainty analysis tool for pressure sensors, based on the DKD-R 6-1 guideline and ISO/IEC 17025. The goal was to extend an existing LabVIEW-based calibration routine by integrating a Python-based post-processing module, which is capable of ...

Airborne infrared sensor calibration
Proceedings of IEEE National Telesystems Conference - NTC '94, 2002Summary form only given, as follows. The employment of sub-milliradian infrared measurement sensors in an airborne platform requires extraordinary techniques to permit the attainment of the parameter accuracy in Earth coordinates vs aircraft coordinates.

Infrared Sensor Calibration Facility
Journal of the IEST, 1992The Boeing Infrared Sensor (BIRS) Calibration Facility represents a major capital investment by The Boeing Company in optical and infrared technology. The facility was designed and built for calibrating and testing new generation large aperture long wave infrared (LWIR) sensors, seekers, and related technologies.

Laser Stripe Sensor Calibration
2011The purpose of laser stripe sensor calibration is to identify its intrinsic parameters and extrinsic parameters. Extrinsic parameters contain information about the sensor position and orientation relative to a reference coordinate frame. The physical meaning of intrinsic parameters varies, depending on the mathematical model of the sensor.

Calibration of Rotating Sensors
2009This paper reports about a method for calibrating rotating senors, namely, rotating sensor-line cameras and laser range-finders. Both together are used to reconstruct accurately 3D environments, such as, for example, large buildings. One of the important steps in the 3D reconstruction pipeline is the fusion of data.
