ABSTRACT Background Parents of children treated for acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) often experience significant caregiver burden and disruption to their well‐being. While parent quality of life (QoL) during treatment is well characterized, little is known about outcomes during early survivorship.

The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Intermediate observer based simultaneous estimation of system states and multiple faults
In this paper, an intermediate observer is proposed for simultaneously estimating the system state, actuator fault and sensor fault. The necessary and sufficient condition is given with respect to the existence of the designed observer. The observer gain

Structural biology of ferritin nanocages
Ferritin is a conserved iron‐storage protein that sequesters iron as a ferric mineral core within a nanocage, protecting cells from oxidative damage and maintaining iron homeostasis. This review discusses ferritin biology, structure, and function, and highlights recent cryo‐EM studies revealing mechanisms of ferritinophagy, cellular iron uptake, and ...

In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Robust air data sensor fault diagnosis with enhanced fault sensitivity using moving horizon estimation [PDF]
This paper investigates robust fault diagnosis of multiple air data sensor faults in the presence of winds. The trade-off between robustness to winds and sensitivity to faults is challenging due to simultaneous influence of winds and latent faults on monitored sensors. Different from conventional residual generators that do not consider any constraints,

Sensor fault estimation using LPV sliding mode observers with erroneous scheduling parameters
This paper proposes a linear parameter-varying sliding mode observer for the purpose of simultaneously estimating the system states and reconstructing sensor faults.

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.
