Interaction vesicles as emerging mediators of host‐pathogen molecular crosstalk and their implications for infection dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Interaction extracellular vesicles (iEVs) are hybrid vesicles formed through host‐pathogen communication. They facilitate immune evasion, transfer pathogens' molecules, increase host cell uptake, and enhance virulence. This Perspective article illustrates the multifunctional roles of iEVs and highlights their emerging relevance in infection dynamics ...

STAT3 expression is reduced in cardiac pericytes in HFpEF and its loss reduces cellular adhesion and induces pericyte senescence

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF) accounts for half of the heart failure cases. It is characterised by microvascular dysfunction, associated with reduced pericyte coverage and diminished STAT3 expression in pericytes. Loss of STAT3 impairs pericyte adhesion, promotes senescence, and activates a pro‐fibrotic gene program.

Multi-Sensor Data and Knowledge Fusion -- A Proposal for a Terminology Definition [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2020
Fusion is a common tool for the analysis and utilization of available datasets and so an essential part of data mining and machine learning processes. However, a clear definition of the type of fusion is not always provided due to inconsistent literature.

Cytoplasmic delivery of antibodies through grafting a functional single complementarity‐determining region loop

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We achieved cytoplasmic delivery of non‐cell‐penetrating IgGs by grafting a single functional complementarity‐determining region 1 (CDR1) from the light chain variable region (VL) of the cell‐internalizable 3D8 antibody. The engineered IgG acquired cell‐penetrating ability while maintaining antigen affinity, highlighting CDR1 grafting as a promising ...

Observable Degree Analysis for Multi-Sensor Fusion System

open access: yesSensors, 2018
Multi-sensor fusion system has many advantages, such as reduce error and improve filtering accuracy. The observability of the system state is an important index to test the convergence accuracy and speed of the designed Kalman filter.

Decoding the dual role of autophagy in cancer through transcriptional and epigenetic regulation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Transcriptional and epigenetic regulation controls autophagy, which exerts context‐dependent effects on cancer: Autophagy suppresses tumorigenesis by maintaining cellular homeostasis or promotes tumor progression by supporting survival under stress. In this “In a Nutshell” article, we explore the intricate mechanisms of the dual function of autophagy ...

Multi-Sensor Conflict Measurement and Information Fusion [PDF]

open access: yesSPIE Defense, Security, and Sensing, April, 2016, 2018
In sensing applications where multiple sensors observe the same scene, fusing sensor outputs can provide improved results. However, if some of the sensors are providing lower quality outputs, the fused results can be degraded. In this work, a multi-sensor conflict measure is proposed which estimates multi-sensor conflict by representing each sensor ...

Autophagy in cancer and protein conformational disorders

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Autophagy plays a crucial role in numerous biological processes, including protein and organelle quality control, development, immunity, and metabolism. Hence, dysregulation or mutations in autophagy‐related genes have been implicated in a wide range of human diseases.
