Chemical Thermal Runaway Modeling of Lithium‐Ion Batteries for Prediction of Heat and Gas Generation

This article describes a method of coupled thermal and chemical simulations for the prediction of thermal runaway behavior of Li‐ion batteries. Temperature curves and amount and composition of released gases are obtained from the simulations. The numerical model can be adapted to various cell types. It is validated by heating ramp experiments.

A data fusion, based on hyperspectral imaging (HSI) and electronic nose (e‐nose) systems, was performed in this study to inspect the postharvest ripening process of Hayward kiwifruit. Performance evaluations proved that the fusion of olfactory and reflectance data improves the performance of machine learning algorithms.
