Chemical Thermal Runaway Modeling of Lithium‐Ion Batteries for Prediction of Heat and Gas Generation
Energy Technology, Volume 11, Issue 10, October 2023., 2023 This article describes a method of coupled thermal and chemical simulations for the prediction of thermal runaway behavior of Li‐ion batteries. Temperature curves and amount and composition of released gases are obtained from the simulations. The numerical model can be adapted to various cell types. It is validated by heating ramp experiments.
