Ubiquitous Neocortical Decoding of Tactile Input Patterns
Whereas functional localization historically has been a key concept in neuroscience, direct neuronal recordings show that input of a particular modality can be recorded well outside its primary receiving areas in the neocortex. Here, we wanted to explore

A post‐stroke perivascular niche of microglia characterized by low expression of M2 markers and elevated glycolysis, oxidative phosphorylation (OXPHOS), and phagocytic activity is identified, which is termed stroke‐activated vascular‐associated microglia (stroke‐VAM).

The Structure of Sensorimotor Explanation [PDF]
The sensorimotor theory of vision and visual consciousness is often described as a radical alternative to the computational and connectionist orthodoxy in the study of visual perception.

The Gut Microbiota Regulates Motor Deficits via Butyrate in a Gnal+/− Mouse Model of DYT25 Dystonia
The present study provides compelling evidence for a modulatory role of the gut microbiota in the pathology of DYT25 dystonia, and butyrate supplementation alleviates the motor deficits of dystonia in Gnal+/− mice. Abstract Dystonia is the third most common movement disorder, following essential tremor and Parkinson's disease. The underlying mechanisms

Beta oscillations are a dominant feature of the sensorimotor system. A transient and prominent increase in beta oscillations is consistently observed across the sensorimotor cortical-basal ganglia network after cessation of voluntary movement: the post ...

Stroke‐induced lactate accumulation promotes p300‐mediated lactylation of methyl‐CpG binding protein 2 (MeCP2) at lysine 210, which reprograms microglial metabolism toward glycolysis and activates the hexokinase 2 (HK2)/mTOR axis. This cascade promotes proinflammatory responses and impairs neurofunctional outcomes.

Sensorimotor Oscillatory Phase-Power Interaction Gates Resting Human Corticospinal Output.
Oscillatory activity within sensorimotor networks is characterized by time-varying changes in phase and power. The influence of interactions between sensorimotor oscillatory phase and power on human motor function, like corticospinal output, is unknown ...

Developmental dyslexia: specific phonological deficit or general sensorimotor dysfunction? [PDF]
Dyslexia research is now facing an intriguing paradox: it is becoming increasingly clear that a significant proportion of dyslexics present sensory and motor deficits; however, as this “sensorimotor syndrome” is being studied in greater detail, it is ...

Identification of Invariant Sensorimotor Structures as a Prerequisite for the Discovery of Objects
Perceiving the surrounding environment in terms of objects is useful for any general purpose intelligent agent. In this paper, we investigate a fundamental mechanism making object perception possible, namely the identification of spatio-temporally ...
