Sensory preconditioning of a conditioned emotional response [PDF]
Twenty male rats were trained to bar-press for food reinforcement. One group (N = 10) received paired presentations of white noise and light (sensory preconditioning), while the other (N = 10) received only noise presentations. A conditioned emotional response was established to the light in both groups.

We developed an implantable dual‐drug depot using GelMA for bone metastasis treatment, co‐delivering MSA‐2 and αB7‐H3‐loaded CaCO3 microparticles. Sustained release from GelMA scaffold enables MSA‐2 to activate STING signaling and enhance T‐cell infiltration and activation, while sequentially released αB7‐H3 blocks MSA‐2‐induced B7‐H3 upregulation ...

We studied how five common immunosuppressants behave when delivered directly to a transplant site instead of systemically. Using a vascularized implant for islet transplantation, we show that local delivery protects grafts, limits drug spread to the rest of the body, and produces distinct immune signatures.

Gastric cancer‐derived exosomal TAGLN2 is identified as a key mediator of vascular reprogramming, with significantly elevated levels detected in patient serum. Independent of canonical SEMA4D signaling, it nucleates a cytoplasmic TAGLN2/NRP1/SEMA4D ternary complex that dually activates YAP, promoting angiogenesis, vascular dysfunction, and metastasis ...

Greedy low-rank algorithm for spatial connectome regression [PDF]
Recovering brain connectivity from tract tracing data is an important computational problem in the neurosciences. Mesoscopic connectome reconstruction was previously formulated as a structured matrix regression problem (Harris et al., 2016), but existing

Repeated disuse imprints a molecular memory in skeletal muscle, conferring transcriptional resilience in young adults but exaggerated susceptibility in aged muscle, driven by epigenetic regulation of aerobic metabolism, mitochondrial and NAD+ pathways.

Neurodegeneration induced by general anaesthetics in the developing brain: Mechanism and prevention
In the early development of brain, there is an important period called the synaptogenesis period (also known as the brain growth-spurt period) which occurs in different mammalian species at different times relative to birth.

New horizons for newborn brain protection: enhancing endogenous neuroprotection. [PDF]
Intrapartum-related events are the third leading cause of childhood mortality worldwide and result in one million neurodisabled survivors each year. Infants exposed to a perinatal insult typically present with neonatal encephalopathy (NE).
