Preliminary results are presented from the development of a magnetic nerve stimulator capable of stimulating sensory nerve fibers. A magnetic stimulator producing fields near 3000 T/s at rates of 1 kHz was developed to initiate action potentials in sensory nerve axons at rates similar to those seen in vivo.
