AbstractSentimentality, the most easily recognizable of emotional vices, is often charged with subordinating truth to desired emotional effect. Yet there can be good reasons for doing that. Where there is fault, it lies in allowing the real importance of the object to be subordinated to its emotive utility to the agent.
