Automated snow avalanche monitoring for Austria: State of the art and roadmap for future work

open access: yesFrontiers in Remote Sensing, 2023
Avalanches pose a significant threat to the population and infrastructure of mountainous regions. The mapping and documentation of avalanches in Austria is mostly done by experts during field observations and covers usually only specific localized areas.

Current potentials and challenges using Sentinel-1 for broadacre field remote sensing [PDF]

open access: yesEurAgEng 2018, 2018
ESA operates the Sentinel-1 satellites, which provides Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) data of Earth. Recorded Sentinel-1 data have shown a potential for remotely observing and monitoring local conditions on broad acre fields. Remote sensing using Sentinel-1 have the potential to provide daily updates on the current conditions in the individual fields ...

Scalable Manufacturing of Radiation‐Tolerant Potentiometric Electrodes: A Systematic Transition from Laboratory to Semiautomated Fabrication

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Laboratory protocols for producing thin‐film pH electrodes for sterilized single‐use technologies have been successfully developed into a semiautomated workflow, with higher throughput and precision of membrane thickness. Accuracies are within 0.05 pH units versus ground truth, and uncertainty analysis reveals the largest sources of error to be derived

Antigen targeting to dendritic cells: Still a place in future immunotherapy?

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Immunology, Volume 52, Issue 12, Page 1909-1924, December 2022., 2022
Dendritic cell‐based immunotherapy is a promising vaccination strategy to treat infectious diseases, autoimmunity, and cancer. In this review, we present an overview on the current state of antigen targeting approaches via C‐type lectin receptors, with an outlook on future developments and potential for clinical translation.
