Deep Learning‐Based Dynamic Segmentation of the Left Atrium in 4D Flow MRI
ABSTRACT Purpose To design a deep learning pipeline for automated, time‐resolved segmentation of the left atrium (LA) from 4D flow MRI data. Methods We studied 100 individuals including 65 patients with atrial fibrillation (AF) and 35 healthy subjects (HS) resulting in 2530 4D flow MRI time‐volumes acquired in different centers and scanners.

Fast Localized Calibration for Spatial‐Spectral Excitation Without Fly‐Back Gradients
ABSTRACT Purpose Standard spatial‐spectral excitation pulses apply a fly‐back gradient between sub‐pulses, limiting, for example, how thin the slices can be (> 4 mm). Without fly‐back gradients, slices can be as thin as 1.7 mm but require a phase calibration for the sub‐pulses with inverted gradients due to system imperfections.

Alginate‐HPC composite fibers spun via CaCl2‐induced gelation process. Fiber diameter ranges from 100 to 200 μm after air drying. Higher alginate boosts water absorption in dried fibers. HPC selectively diffuses out when fibers are soaked in water. Crosslinking with hexamethylene diisocyanate improves mechanical strength.
