Changes in and predictors of length of stay in hospital after surgery for breast cancer between 1997/98 and 2004/05 in two regions of England: a population-based [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
BACKGROUND Decreases in length of stay (LOS) in hospital after breast cancer surgery can be partly attributed to the change to less radical surgery, but many other factors are operating at the patient, surgeon and hospital levels.

Harnessing the Biological Responses Induced by Nanomaterials for Enhanced Cancer Therapy

open access: yesAggregate, EarlyView.
Nanomaterial (NM)‐induced toxicity can be strategically repurposed for cancer therapy. This review summarizes the mechanism by which NMs selectively activate specific cellular processes to regulate cell fate independently. We also discussed how NMs‐induced biological responses can be leveraged as therapeutic strategies for cancer treatment.

Feasibility of Charcoal Tattooing of Cytology-Proven Metastatic Axillary Lymph Node at Diagnosis and Sentinel Lymph Node Biopsy after Neoadjuvant Chemotherapy in Breast Cancer Patients

open access: yesCancer research and treatment : official journal of Korean Cancer Association, 2017
Purpose Sentinel lymph node biopsy (SLNB) can be performed when node-positive disease is converted to node-negative status after neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NCT). Tattooing nodes might improve accuracy but supportive data are limited.

Selective PAR2 Inhibition Attenuates HDM‐Induced Th1/Th2 Responses in Human Epithelial and Murine Models of Allergic Rhinitis and Asthma

open access: yesInternational Forum of Allergy &Rhinology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Allergic rhinitis (AR) and asthma are involved in complex interactions between Th1 and Th2 inflammatory pathways. House dust mite (HDM) activates protease‐activated receptor 2 (PAR2) to trigger inflammatory responses, but current treatments often provide inadequate control.
