Cutaneous Squamous Cell Carcinoma Tumour Size is Associated with Sentinel Lymph Node Metastasis in a Cohort of 69 Patients

open access: yesActa Dermato-Venereologica, 2019
Ten to fifty percent of high-risk cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma may potentially metastasize. However, the concept of sentinel lymph node biopsy remains controversial for cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma.

Axillary dissection compared to sentinel node biopsy for the treatment of pathologically node-negative breast cancer: a meta-analysis of four randomized trials with long-term follow up

open access: yesOncology Reviews, 2012
Sentinel lymph node biopsy is now accepted as the initial approach for women with early stage breast cancer with clinically node-negative disease. We performed a pooled analysis of trials comparing axillary lymph node dissection to sentinel lymph node ...

Metastases risk in thin cutaneous melanoma: Prognostic value of clinical-pathologic characteristics and mutation profile [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Background: A high percentage of patients with thin melanoma (TM), defined as lesions with Breslow thickness ≤1 mm, presents excellent long-term survival, however, some patients develop metastases.

Preoperative prediction of sentinel lymph node metastasis in breast cancer by radiomic signatures from dynamic contrast‐enhanced MRI

open access: yesJournal of Magnetic Resonance Imaging, 2018
Sentinel lymph node (SLN) status is an important prognostic factor for patients with breast cancer, which is currently determined in clinical practice by invasive SLN biopsy.

From lactation to malignancy: A comparison between healthy and cancerous breast gland at single‐cell resolution reveals new issues for tumorigenesis

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Single‐cell RNA sequencing reveals an opposite role of SLPI in basal tumors based on metastatic spread, along with shared activation of specific regulons in cancer cells and mature luminal lactocytes, as well as downregulation of MALAT1 and NEAT1 in the latter.

Minimally Invasive Surgery and Sentinel Lymph Node Biopsy – a Modern Standart of Uterine Confined Endometrial Cancer Treatment: Reviewing Literature and Presenting the National Cancer Institute Experience

open access: yesLietuvos Chirurgija, 2020
Objectives. To find out sentinel lymph node detection rate of low-risk endometrial cancer patients. To compare postoperative complications rate, lenght of a surgery, lenght of hospital stay and sensitivity of detecting lymph node metastasis between ...

The EANM practical guidelines for sentinel lymph node localisation in oral cavity squamous cell carcinoma

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging, 2018
PurposeSentinel lymph node biopsy is an essential staging tool in patients with clinically localized oral cavity squamous cell carcinoma. The harvesting of a sentinel lymph node entails a sequence of procedures with participation of specialists in ...

RKIP overexpression reduces lung adenocarcinoma aggressiveness and sensitizes cells to EGFR‐targeted therapies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
RKIP, a metastasis suppressor protein, modulates key oncogenic pathways in lung adenocarcinoma. In silico analyses linked low RKIP expression to poor survival. Functional studies revealed RKIP overexpression reduces tumor aggressiveness and enhances sensitivity to EGFR‐targeted therapies, while its loss promotes resistance.

Sentinel lymph node biopsy mapped with methylene blue dye alone in patients with breast cancer: A systematic review and meta-analysis

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2018
Background Methylene blue dye is easy to obtain in developing countries and can be used in sentinel lymph node mapping for breast cancer. However, the accuracy of methylene blue alone for sentinel lymph node mapping in breast cancer has not been well ...
