This study explores salivary RNA for breast cancer (BC) diagnosis, prognosis, and follow‐up. High‐throughput RNA sequencing identified distinct salivary RNA signatures, including novel transcripts, that differentiate BC from healthy controls, characterize histological and molecular subtypes, and indicate lymph node involvement.

Ultrasound mapping of lymph node and subcutaneous metastases in patients with cutaneous melanoma: Results of a prospective multicenter study [PDF]
Background: Ultrasound (sonography, B-mode sonography, ultrasonography) examination improves the sensitivity in more than 25% compared to the clinical palpation, especially after surgery on the regional lymph node area.

Sentinel node in gynaecological oncology
SummaryBackgroundThe concept of sentinel node biopsy has been widely invastigated in various malignant tumoures and has become a standard method in such neoplastic diseases as penile cancer or melanoma. In tumours, where the lymphatic flow is more complicated and difficult to analyze, this concept still needs to be verified.AimThe aim of this paper is ...

Three faces of node importance in network epidemiology: Exact results for small graphs
We investigate three aspects of the importance of nodes with respect to Susceptible-Infectious-Removed (SIR) disease dynamics: influence maximization (the expected outbreak size given a set of seed nodes), the effect of vaccination (how much deleting ...
