Statistical Parameters of Separation Processes

Refractories and Industrial Ceramics, 2020
The regime of two-phase ascending flow in which the solid phase can move in both directions is called critical. The analysis of such flows from the standpoint of statistical approach has allowed establishing main parameters characterizing this mass process. Chaotizing factor and solid phase mobility are among its energy characteristics.

Statistical analysis of a signal separation method based on second-order statistics

IEEE Transactions on Signal Processing, 2001
This paper explores an existing method for signal separation, which is based on second order statistics. Here, statistical analysis of a generalized version of the original algorithm is given. The generalized method includes a weighting matrix, and a result of the statistical analysis is that the best possible weighting is found.

On a Generalization of Separable Statistics

Theory of Probability & Its Applications, 1986
Let \(\{(\xi_ t,\eta_ t)\}^ n_{t=1}\) be a sequence of independent random vectors taking on values \((m,\ell)\), \(m=1,2,...,N\), \(\ell =0,1,...,M-1\), with the unknown probabilities \(p_ mp_{m\ell}\) where \(p_ m=P\{\xi_ t=m\}\), \(p_{m\ell}=P\{\eta_ t=\ell | \xi_ t=m\}\), \(t=1,2,...,N\).
