Сritical Speed Numerical Determination for Arbitrary Tube Bundle in Fluid Flow

open access: yesМеханика машин, механизмов и материалов, 2017
On the basis of the analysis results of experimental behavior of tube bundles under separated flow, the mathematical model for hydroelastic vibration excitation mechanism of tube bundle was developed.

Structural instability impairs function of the UDP‐xylose synthase 1 Ile181Asn variant associated with short‐stature genetic syndrome in humans

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

On the flow processes in sharply inclined and stalled airfoils in parallel movement and rotation [PDF]

open access: yes
The purpose of this study is to obtain a deeper insight into the complicated flow processes on airfoils in the region of the buoyancy maxima. To this end calculated and experimental investigations are carried out on a straight stationary, a twisted ...

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

VIBRATIONS OF THIN WINGS IN THE SEPARATED FLOW. CALCULATION AND EXPERIMENT

open access: yesНаучный вестник МГТУ ГА, 2016
The results of computational and experimental study of thin wings flutter in separated and unseparated flow are presented. The effect of flutter suppressing in the presence of separation is found.

Heuristics methods for the flow shop scheduling problem with separated setup times

open access: yesRevista Produção Online, 2012
This paper deals with the permutation flow shop scheduling problem with separated machine setup times. As a result of an investigation on the problem characteristics, four heuristics methods are proposed with procedures of the construction sequencing ...

Averaging theory for the structure of hydraulic jumps and separation in laminar free-surface flows [PDF]

open access: yes, 1997
We present a simple viscous theory of free-surface flows in boundary layers, which can accommodate regions of separated flow. In particular this yields the structure of stationary hydraulic jumps, both in their circular and linear versions, as well as ...

Structural biology of ferritin nanocages

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Ferritin is a conserved iron‐storage protein that sequesters iron as a ferric mineral core within a nanocage, protecting cells from oxidative damage and maintaining iron homeostasis. This review discusses ferritin biology, structure, and function, and highlights recent cryo‐EM studies revealing mechanisms of ferritinophagy, cellular iron uptake, and ...
