Adsorption of Proteins on ‘Sephadex’
Nature, 1962IN the course of studies on the gel filtration of a number of proteins on ‘Sephadex G–50’ (trade name for a cross-linked polysaccharide dextran made by Pharmacia, Uppsala, Sweden, who publish a booklet containing an extensive bibliography), it was found that in the absence of salts some proteins were strongly adsorbed to the gel.

Affinity of Mutarotase for Sephadex and Glycogen
Enzyme, 1984It was found that hog kidney mutarotase has an affinity for Sephadex G-100, equilibrated and eluted with 5 mmol/l EDTA buffer (pH 7.4), resulting in retardation of its elution from the column. The affinity was reduced depending upon the presence of 0.15 mol/l NaCl and 0.2 mol/l glucose, separately or in combination.

Chromatography of cephalosporins on DEAE-Sephadex
Journal of Chromatography A, 1976A method is described for separating and quantifying new cephalosporin derivatives by means of column chromatography on DEAE-Sephadex A-25. The procedure has been used to determine some breakdown products of cefacetril.

The use of Sephadex for the concentration of pteridines
Journal of Chromatography A, 1967Abstract For the isolation of small quantities of pteridines from dilute solutions, such as the culture filtrates of Tetrahymena pyriformis, Sephadex G-25 and G-10 (fine) have proved to be of value. Volumes as large as the void volume of the Sephadex column can be used, resulting in the elimination of large amounts of ultraviolet-absorbing material ...

Separation of lipids on methylated sephadex
Analytical Biochemistry, 1965Abstract Methylated Sephadex G-25 and G-50 have been prepared. These materials are useful for the separation of lipid-soluble compounds. The separation of phospholipids, triglycerides, cholesterol esters, cholesterol, fatty acids, bile acids, and some polymers has been studied. The separations appear to be based partly on differences in size and/or

Sephadex sandwich disc electrophoresis
Analytical Biochemistry, 1970Abstract A new Sephadex sandwich disc electrophoresis method has been devised for effective resolution of complex macromolecules on the basis of their charge and molecular dimensions. As evidenced by separation of mitochondrial and serum lipoproteins from contaminating proteins, superior resolution of these macromolecules is obtained with this ...

Isoelectric focusing in a Sephadex column
Analytical Biochemistry, 1976Abstract An isoelectric focusing technique on a Sephadex column is described. This technique provides for the fractionation of amphoteric compounds in a pH gradient and allows for better than 95% recovery of the focused material. Focusing in this system over a pH range of 3.5–10 reaches equilibrium in approximately 5 hr and thereby reduces the ...
