Partition Chromatography of Oxytocin on ‘Sephadex’

Nature, 1964
GEL-FILTRATION on ‘Sephadex’ as a means of purifying natural products has been widely used since its first introduction by Porath and Flodin1. One of its many applications has been to the purification of natural oxytocin2. Experiments conducted during the past 2 years have shown that the purification of oxytocin can be conveniently and effectively ...

Adsorption of Proteins on ‘Sephadex’ [PDF]

open access: possibleNature, 1962
IN the course of studies on the gel filtration of a number of proteins on ‘Sephadex G–50’ (trade name for a cross-linked polysaccharide dextran made by Pharmacia, Uppsala, Sweden, who publish a booklet containing an extensive bibliography), it was found that in the absence of salts some proteins were strongly adsorbed to the gel.

The glomerular permeability determined by dextran clearance using Sephadex gel filtration.

Scandinavian Journal of Clinical and Laboratory Investigation, 1968
A method is described for measuring glomerular permeability by dextran clearance using Sephadex gel filtration technique. Clearance is shown to be a function of molecular size, decreasing with increasing molecular weight. At a mol.

Affinity of Mutarotase for Sephadex and Glycogen

Enzyme, 1984
It was found that hog kidney mutarotase has an affinity for Sephadex G-100, equilibrated and eluted with 5 mmol/l EDTA buffer (pH 7.4), resulting in retardation of its elution from the column. The affinity was reduced depending upon the presence of 0.15 mol/l NaCl and 0.2 mol/l glucose, separately or in combination.

Chromatography of cephalosporins on DEAE-Sephadex

Journal of Chromatography A, 1976
A method is described for separating and quantifying new cephalosporin derivatives by means of column chromatography on DEAE-Sephadex A-25. The procedure has been used to determine some breakdown products of cefacetril.

Effects of larval nutrition, adult body size, and adult temperature on the ability of Anopheles gambiae (Diptera: Culicidae) to melanize sephadex beads.

Journal of medical entomology, 1998
A Plasmodium-refractory strain (L35) of the mosquito Anopheles gambiae Giles melanizes late ookinetes on the basal surface of the midgut, resulting in the death of the parasites.

Electron-transfer reactivity and enzymatic activity of hemoglobin in a SP Sephadex membrane.

Analytical Chemistry, 2001
Hemoglobin can exhibit a direct electron-transfer reaction after being entrapped in a SP Sephadex membrane. A pair of stable and well-defined redox waves are obtained at a hemoglobin-SP sephadex modified pyrolytic graphite electrode.

Sephadex sandwich disc electrophoresis

Analytical Biochemistry, 1970
Abstract A new Sephadex sandwich disc electrophoresis method has been devised for effective resolution of complex macromolecules on the basis of their charge and molecular dimensions. As evidenced by separation of mitochondrial and serum lipoproteins from contaminating proteins, superior resolution of these macromolecules is obtained with this ...
