Ultrastructure of septa in Blastobotrys and Sporothrix
Antonie van Leeuwenhoek, 1985Transmission electron micrographs of septa in Blastobotrys species invariably showed central micropores. Septa of species of Sporothrix, however, exhibited three types of pores: micropores which were central if single, or scattered; central simple pores with Woronin bodies; dolipores. The results confirm the heterogeneity of the genus Sporothrix.

Transverse septa inGeotrichum lactis

A variety of cysts is found in the placenta, some of which have a readily traceable histogenesis, others are of obscure origin. In general, cysts are more common in mature placentas and, with respect to the septal cysts and those on the chorionic surface, there appears to be a relationship to excess fibrin deposition.

Orbital Septa: Anatomy and Function
Ophthalmology, 1979As a consequence of some puzzling motility disturbances in patients with blow-out fractures, a new anatomic approach to the human orbit was developed. This new approach revealed unknown connective tissue septa inside the orbit. These connective tissue septa were highly organized and formed an accessory locomotor system.

The atrial septum is the wall between the left atrium and the right atrium. Real-time 3D TEE has the potential to visualize the atrial septum “en face” both from the right and the left sides (Figs. 6.1–6.3).

Dihedral angles between alveolar septa
Journal of Applied Physiology, 1988To determine the dihedral angle, alpha, at the characteristic three-way septal junctions of lung parenchyma, we examined photomicrographs of sections. The three angles, A, formed where three septal traces meet on section, were measured and found to range between approximately 50 and 170 degrees. Theoretical considerations predicted that the dispersion

Transcervical incision of septa: 447 cases
Surgical Endoscopy, 2008Although uterine septum does not cause infertility, it may lead to recurrent abortion, preterm delivery, and premature rupture of membrane in over 25% of patients. The aim of this study was to evaluate feasibility and clinical value of hysteroscopic bipolar electric vaporization technique (Versapoint Bipolar Electrosurgical System) used in ...

Electron microscopy of septa in ascomycetous yeasts
Antonie van Leeuwenhoek, 1973Electron micrographs of septa in ascomycetous, filamentous yeasts showed three types of structure, namely, dolipores, plasmodesmata, and a central connection indicated as a closure line. The taxonomic use of these and some other morphological features is surveyed.

The ultrasonic appearances of the septa of Bertin in children
Clinical Radiology, 1984The ultrasonic appearances of the septa of Bertin are described in relation to eight children. These septa may be of varying echogenicity from the remaining cortex and may lead to a misdiagnosis of a true pathological lesion. In our series, two children had an initial suspicion of an abdominal mass; one an intrarenal neoplasm and the other an ...
