Peptide Sequence Analysis

2005
In mass spectrometry (MS)-based protein studies, peptide fragmentation analysis (i.e., MS/MS experiments such as matrix-assisted laser desorption ionization [MALDI]-post-source decay [PSD] analysis, collision-induced dissociation [CID] of electrospray- and MALDI-generated ions, and electron-capture and electron-transfer dissociation analysis of ...

NONLINEAR TIME SEQUENCE ANALYSIS

International Journal of Bifurcation and Chaos, 1991
We review several aspects of the analysis of time sequences, and concentrate on recent methods using concepts from the theory of nonlinear dynamical systems. In particular, we discuss problems in estimating attractor dimensions, entropies, and Lyapunov exponents, in reducing noise and in forecasting.

Sequence analysis of proteins

Gene Analysis Techniques, 1987
There has been a rapid increase in the number of available protein sequences derived from gene-sequence information. Computer-based sequence analysis of proteins is gaining in importance as an analytical tool. With the help of these analyses such sequences may be characterized and some insights gained into their probable role in the system.

COMPUTATIONAL DNA SEQUENCE ANALYSIS

Annual Review of Microbiology, 1994
This paper reviews several new developments in computer and statistical analysis of DNA and protein sequences. We present criteria and describe means for assessing and interpreting genomic inhomogeneities within and between sequences. These include: (a) characterizations of short oligonucleotide biases and general compositional tendencies; (b ...

Nanopore RNA Sequencing Analysis

2021
The recent advent of Nanopore sequencing allows for the sequencing of full-length RNA or cDNA molecules. This new type of data introduces new challenges from the computational point of view, and requires new software as well as dedicated analysis pipelines.

Basic Protein Sequence Analysis

Current Protocols in Molecular Biology, 2005
AbstractPrediction of molecular function of proteins has become an important task in the genomics era. A wide variety of sequence analysis tools are available to biologists for this task. We have selected one or two primary protocols for tasks such as domain detection, subcellular localization, and motif detection.

C‐Terminal Sequence Analysis

Current Protocols in Protein Science, 2003
AbstractCarboxy‐terminal (C‐terminal) sequence analysis is used for direct confirmation of the C‐terminal sequence of native and expressed proteins, for detection and characterization of protein processing at the C‐terminus, for identification of post‐translational proteolytic cleavages, and for obtaining partial sequence information on N‐terminally ...
