Arbitrarily fast delayed signal cancellation PLL for grid‐integration of renewable energy sources

open access: yesIET Renewable Power Generation
Integrating renewable energy sources into an unbalanced distribution network requires fast and accurate extraction of fundamental frequency positive‐ and negative‐sequence components from the unbalanced three‐phase grid voltage signals. For this purpose,

Metastatic niche shaped by host factors influences disseminated cancer cell fate

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Metastasis is shaped not only by cancer cells but also by the environments they encounter. This review explores how factors such as aging, diet, the microbiome, lifestyle, and environmental exposures remodel organ‐specific niches in the lung, liver, bone, and brain, influencing where metastatic cells survive, remain dormant, or grow, and ultimately ...

Production Sequencing and Layout Optimization of Precast Concrete Components under Mold Resource Constraints

open access: yesBuildings
Precast concrete components have attracted a lot of attention due to their efficient production on off-site production lines. However, in the precast component production process, unreasonable production sequence and mold layout will reduce production ...

Smaller is better: nanobodies meet NMR

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Nanobodies are single‐domain antigen‐binding fragments derived from camelid heavy chain antibodies. Their small size, high stability, and exceptional specificity make nanobodies uniquely useful probes for NMR studies of protein dynamics, transient conformational states, and protein–protein interactions.

Invisible but not inaccessible—Revealing transient oligomers formed by intrinsically disordered proteins with solution NMR and complementary methods

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Transient oligomers formed by intrinsically disordered proteins may be ‘invisible’ to direct detection yet remain accessible to solution NMR through equilibrium‐exchange measurements and pressure‐jump experiments. Complementary methods report on mass, stoichiometry, selected distance distributions, morphology, and internal packing.

DEGREES OF FREEDOM ANALYSIS IN PRODUCT ASSEMBLING

open access: yesAl-Qadisiyah Journal for Engineering Science, 2011
Assembly sequence generation is one of the major difficulties in assembly planning process. In this paper, disassembly sequence generation has been used as approach to generate products assembly sequence.

Membrane composition and thermodynamic identity as boundaries of life for synthetic cell research

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
What makes a cell a cell? The boundary of a living cell is not just a wall. Read as a Markov blanket, the membrane separates internal from external states, generating identity and non‐equilibrium order. Can this identity be rebuilt from scratch in a synthetic cell?

Neutralization of the PTX3/CD44 axis suppresses TGF‐β1 signaling in kidney fibrosis

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study investigates how the PTX3/CD44 axis promotes kidney fibrosis by activating TGF‐β1 signaling. We demonstrate that the neutralizing antibody WHC‐001 effectively inhibits this pathway, suppressing myofibroblast activation and partial epithelial–mesenchymal transition (EMT).

BIOINFORMATICS APPLICATIONS NOTE doi:10.1093/bioinformatics/btl007 Sequence analysis

open access: yes, 2008
Motivation: The first version of the graphical multiple sequence alignment environment QAlign was published in 2003. Heavy response from the molecular-biological user community clearly demonstrated the need for such a platform.

DNA ligase LigE increases bacterial transformation with damaged extracellular DNA

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The DNA ligase LigE from the naturally competent Gram‐negative bacterium Neisseria gonorrhoaea increases transformation with cut extracellular DNA. This process is ATP‐dependent and relies on the catalytic activity of LigE; it also requires that LigE contains an intact periplasmic localisation sequence, indicating that ligE functions in the periplasm ...
