Abstract Generally, engineering design progresses from generating requirements to developing concepts. Despite this, educators observe that students have ideas for the eventual solution before fully defining the problem. Thus, a method of exploiting this natural proclivity may result in a better overall product or process.

Experimental sketch of landscapes in protein sequence space
Journal of Fermentation and Bioengineering, 1995Abstract A landscape in protein sequence space shows the relationship between the primary structure and the level of a property of each protein. We developed methods for observing local landscapes experimentally using catalase I from Bacillus stearothermophilus with respect to its catalatic activity, peroxidatic activity, and thermostability.

Materials Today: Proceedings, 2021
Abstract The main issue in the present situation is how to secure the data in the online digital world. Most of the online accounts are protected using text passwords, OTP, and biometric systems. But they have their own limitations. Therefore to increase the security in a different direction, three different approaches are proposed.

A sketch-based interface to modify and reproduce motion sequences
Multimedia Tools and Applications, 2013We present a sketch-based user interface, which was designed to help novices to create 3D character animations by multi-pass sketching, avoiding the ambiguities usually present in sketch input. Our system also contains sketch-based editing and reproducing tools, which allow paths and motions to be partially updated rather than wholly redrawn; and ...

Optimal Matrix Sketching over Sliding Windows
Proceedings of the VLDB EndowmentMatrix sketching, aimed at approximating a matrix A ∈ R N×d consisting of vector streams of length N with a smaller sketching matrix B ∈ R ℓ×d , ℓ ≪ N , has garnered increasing attention in fields such as large-scale data ...

Sketching human character animations by composing sequences from large motion database
The Visual Computer, 2013Quick creation of 3D character animations is an important task in game design, simulations, forensic animation, education, training, and more. We present a framework for creating 3D animated characters using a simple sketching interface coupled with a large, unannotated motion database that is used to find the appropriate motion sequences corresponding

IMOTION – Searching for Video Sequences Using Multi-Shot Sketch Queries
2016This paper presents the second version of the IMOTION system, a sketch-based video retrieval engine supporting multiple query paradigms. Ever since, IMOTION has supported the search for video sequences on the basis of still images, user-provided sketches, or the specification of motion via flow fields.

How2Sketch: generating easy-to-follow tutorials for sketching 3D objects
ACM Symposium on Interactive 3D Graphics and Games, 2016Accurately drawing 3D objects is difficult for untrained individuals, as it requires an understanding of perspective and its effects on geometry and proportions.

Cancer Research, 2011
Abstract There is now a wide recognition that the cross-talk between cancer and stromal cells may play a crucial role in cancer progression, although the complex underlying molecular mechanisms that occur within the tumor microenvironment are poorly understood.
