SCP‐Pose: Leveraging Structural Consistency Prior Knowledge for Real‐Time Category‐Level 6D Pose Estimation

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
This paper presents a high‐speed object pose estimation method that deconstructs objects into geometric components. Inspired by human cognitive generalization, it detects these primitives and infers the 6D pose from their stable spatial configuration.

Prediction of Protein–Protein Interactions by Evidence Combining Methods

open access: yes, 2016
Most cellular functions involve proteins’ features based on their physical interactions with other partner proteins. Sketching a map of protein–protein interactions (PPIs) is therefore an important inception step towards understanding the basics of cell ...

Pre‐Curved Everting Robots With Embedded Steering Intelligence Fabricated by CO2 Laser Welding

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
Design and experimental demonstration of a laser welded growing robot for anatomically guided navigation. The robot follows an aortic arch phantom entering the branchiocephalic branch through steering by design. The figure shows the physical phantom setup, CAD defined weld geometry and full robot eversion.

Analyzing the generative effects of sketches with design theory: sketching to foster knowledge reordering

open access: yes, 2015
International audienceSketching constitutes an essential work tool for designers. On the first hand, sketches allow to externalize ideas, being then very economic cognitively.

A Continuous, Editable Representation for Deforming Mesh Sequences with Separate Signals for Time, Pose and Shape

open access: yes, 2012
It is increasingly popular to represent non-rigid motion using a deforming mesh sequence: a discrete sequence of frames, each of which is given as a mesh with a common graph structure. Such sequences have the flexibility to represent a wide range of mesh

A Soft Robotic Jellyfish with Decoupled Actuators for Agile 3D Locomotion

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
This study presents a soft robotic jellyfish featuring a functionally decoupled actuation architecture. By separating propulsion, steering, and vertical regulation into independent modules, the robot overcomes conventional coupled‐motion limitations. Utilizing a passive‐valve‐based differential drag strategy and lateral water jets, it achieves agile 3D

Profiling Co‐Occurrent Morphological Phenotypes and Their Degree of Expression Severity in Vacuolated Cells by Holo‐Tomographic Flow Cytometry and Fractal Analysis

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
HTFC gets 3D refractive index tomograms of flowing cells. Label‐free monocytes are engineered to express patterns of cytoplasmic vacuoles. From the tomogram, an efficient dimensionality reduction is operated. Interpretable features are extracted to classify the expression severity of phenotypes coexisting in each cell, visually represented by a seven ...

Negotiating contested spaces and places: Narratives of social suffering and resistance in racialized Cape Town communities

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Community Psychology, EarlyView.
Abstract This study employs a schizocartographic approach to explore community narratives of space, memory, and violence in Kraaifontein, Cape Town. Through participants' accounts, ordinary places—gardens, shops, blocks, sports grounds, and streets—emerge as ambivalent geographies where trauma, resilience, and belonging intersect.

Sketching data structures for alignment-free analysis of genomic sequences

open access: yes

Functional models from limited data: A parametric and multimodal approach to anatomy and 3D kinematics of feeding in basking sharks (Cetorhinus maximus)

open access: yesThe Anatomical Record, EarlyView.
Abstract Basking sharks, Cetorhinus maximus (Gunnerus, Brugden [Squalus maximus], Det Kongelige Norske Videnskabers Selskabs Skrifter, 1765, vol. 3, pp. 33–49), feed by gaping their mouths and gill slits, greatly reorienting their cranial skeletons to filter food from water.
