Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Complete Genome Sequence of Serotype III Streptococcus agalactiae Sequence Type 17 Strain 874391
Here we report the complete genome sequence of Streptococcus agalactiae strain 874391. This serotype III isolate is a member of the hypervirulent sequence type 17 (ST-17) lineage that causes a disproportionate number of cases of invasive disease in ...

Organization and sequence of the gene encoding the human acrosin-trypsin inhibitor (HUSI-II) [PDF]
A complete cDNA encoding the acrosin-trypsin inhibitor, HUSI-II, was used as a probe to isolate genomic clones from a human placenta library. Three clones which cover the entire HUSI-II gene were isolated and characterized.

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

Vancomycin-resistant Enterococcus faecium (VREfm) is an emerging pathogen responsible for healthcare-associated infections. For this reason, 44 VREfm isolates collected during 2021–2023 were characterized using phenotypic and genomic approaches.

A Note on a Ramsey-Type Problem for Sequences [PDF]
Two sequences $\{x_i\}_{i=1}^{t}$ and $\{y_i\}_{i=1}^t$ of distinct integers are similar if their entries are order-isomorphic. Let $f(r,X)$ be the length of the shortest sequence $Y$ such that any $r$-coloring of the entries of $Y$ yields a monochromatic subsequence that is also similar to $X$.

An isoform of 14‐3‐3 protein regulates transbilayer lipid movement at the plasma membrane
Loss of 14‐3‐3ζ in CHO cells confers resistance to exogenous phosphatidylserine (PS) and impairs endocytosis‐independent inward flip‐flop of fluorescent PS at the plasma membrane. RNAi‐mediated knockdown reproduces this defect, while no additive effect is seen in ATP11C‐deficient cells.
