Achievement Sets of Reciprocals of Complete Sequences

open access: yesResults in Mathematics, 2023
AbstractThe paper is dedicated to answer Question 1 from the preprint of the paper (Jones in Am Math Mon 118: 508-521, 2011). We show that it is possible to construct a complete sequence $$(x_n)$$ ( x n )

Explicit constructions of point sets and sequences with low discrepancy

open access: yes, 2013
In this article we survey recent results on the explicit construction of finite point sets and infinite sequences with optimal order of $\mathcal{L}_q$ discrepancy.

Sequence of Regular Finitely Additive Set Functions [PDF]

open access: yesTransactions of the American Mathematical Society, 1974
The purpose of this paper is to deduce versions of Phillips’ lemma and the Vitali-Hahn-Saks theorem, with weaker conditions placed on the set functions and convergence conditions than is usually required.

Design Framework of Fourier-Based Non-Orthogonal Sequences for Sparse Activity Detection in Multicell Massive Connectivity

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2022
In massive machine-type communications (mMTC), grant-free access is a key enabler for a massive number of users to be connected to a base station with low signaling overhead and low latency. In this paper, new Fourier-based sequence sets are proposed for

Quasi-Almost Lacunary Statistical Convergence of Sequences of Sets

open access: yesInternational Journal of Analysis and Applications, 2018
In this study, we defined concepts of Wijsman quasi-almost lacunary convergence, Wijsman quasi-strongly almost lacunary convergence and Wijsman quasi q-strongly almost lacunary convergence.

PREQUAL: detecting non-homologous characters in sets of unaligned homologous sequences

open access: yesBioinform., 2018
Summary Phylogenomic datasets invariably contain undetected stretches of non-homologous characters due to poor-quality sequences or erroneous gene models.

Sets of complementary sequences

open access: yesElectronics Letters, 1983
A set of complementary sequences is a set of sequences such that, for each nonzero offset, the out-of-phase aperiodic autocorrelations of all the sequences sum to zero. It is shown that the sequences from any coset of an (N, m) nondegenerate minimal linear cyclic code over GF(p) form a set of complex-valued complementary sequences of length N.

Characterizations of compact operators on ℓp−type fractional sets of sequences

open access: yesDemonstratio Mathematica, 2019
Among the sets of sequences studied, difference sets of sequences are probably the most common type of sets. This paper considers some ℓp−type fractional difference sets via the gamma function.

Exploring the temporal structure of heterochronous sequences using TempEst (formerly Path-O-Gen)

open access: yesVirus Evolution, 2016
Gene sequences sampled at different points in time can be used to infer molecular phylogenies on a natural timescale of months or years, provided that the sequences in question undergo measurable amounts of evolutionary change between sampling times ...

Why and When Are Evidence‐Based Interventions Adopted in Paediatric Supportive Care? A Qualitative Exploration of the Determinants of Photobiomodulation Implementation

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Oral mucositis is a common and debilitating side effect of childhood cancer and stem cell transplant treatments. It affects the quality of life of children and young people (CYP) and places a strain on services. Photobiomodulation is recommended for oral mucositis prevention in international guidance but is poorly implemented in UK ...
