A Feasible Trust-Region Sequential Quadratic Programming Algorithm [PDF]

open access: yesSIAM Journal on Optimization, 2004
Summary: An algorithm for smooth nonlinear constrained optimization problems is described, in which a sequence of feasible iterates is generated by solving a trust-region sequential quadratic programming (SQP) subproblem at each iteration and by perturbing the resulting step to retain feasibility of each iterate. By retaining feasibility, the algorithm

Logspace Sequential Quadratic Programming for Design Optimization [PDF]

open access: yesAIAA Journal, 2022
A novel approach to exploiting the log-convex structure present in many design problems is developed by modifying the classical Sequential Quadratic Programming (SQP) algorithm. The modified algorithm, Logspace Sequential Quadratic Programming (LSQP), inherits some of the computational efficiency exhibited by log-convex methods such as Geometric ...

Photonic Engineering Enables All‐Passive Upconversion Imaging with Low‐Intensity Near‐Infrared Light

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A passive upconversion imaging system enables the observation of scenes illuminated by low‐intensity incoherent near‐infrared light from 750 to 930 nm, by converting it into the visible without the use of external power. The upconverter is enabled by triplet–triplet annihilation in a bulk heterojunction, with absorption enhanced by plasmonic resonators

Unveiling Aggregation‐Induced Singlet Fission in Push–Pull Diketopyrrolopyrrole Water Dispersed Nanoaggregates and Thin Films

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Aggregates of diketopyrrolopyrrole dipolar and quadrupolar systems exhibit panchromatic absorption spectra extending in the entire visible range. Upon aggregation in water and in the solid state, their fluorescence is almost completely quenched and their singlet excited state lifetime is significantly shortened.
