In the paper, reliable yield estimation and tolerance-aware design optimization of circular polarization (CP) antennas is discussed. We exploit auxiliary kriging interpolation models established in the vicinity of the nominal design in order to speed up the process of statistical analysis of the antenna structure at hand.

Structural and Multidisciplinary Optimization, 2019
The present study explores reliability-based design optimization (RBDO) using multi-objective genetic algorithm (MOGA) in the context of practical engineering design. The reliability analysis is carried out using a most probable point-based method with first-order sensitivities.

Abstract Sequential statistical experimental designs (Plackett–Burman, factorial, response surface and ridge analysis) were used to improve the medium for the production of Echinocandin B (ECB) by Aspergillus nidulans . Special attention is given to the ridge analysis, a search and optimization technique which can be applied to second-order models ...

Statistical Inference after an Adaptive Group Sequential Design: A Case Study
Drug Information Journal, 2010The adaptive group sequential design of Lehmacher and Wassmer allows fully flexible redetermination of sample size after each of a predetermined number of interim looks. Study 02CLLIII, a large, randomized, multicenter trial in chronic lymphocytic leukemia, was based on this approach, with five planned analyses. The study terminated for efficacy at the

Glycan structures account for up to 35% of the mass of cardiac sodium ( Nav ) channels. To question whether and how reduced sialylation affects Nav activity and cardiac electrical signaling, we conducted a series of in vitro experiments on ventricular apex myocytes under two different glycosylation conditions, reduced protein sialylation (ST3Gal4(-/-))

Measurement Techniques, 2012
It is proposed that multiple measurements be treated as a random sequential sample for probability estimates and a measurement procedure based on a sequential plan is constructed which will ensure fulfillment of specified limits on the probabilities of type 1 and type 2 errors with a minimum sample volume.

In the first part of the dissertation, we present a Bayesian framework for sequential monitoring that allows for use of external data, and that can be applied in a wide range of clinical trial applications. Monitoring priors are defined using the family of generalized normal distributions which comprise a flexible class of priors, naturally allowing ...

Abstract In our search for a pullulanase production from unconventional sources, Bacillus subtilis MF467279 was isolated from the desert plant species Salsola imbricate, that collected from Tur Sinai, Egypt. The optimization of pullulanase enzyme was performed in three stages.

Statistics-based experimental designs were applied to optimize the culture conditions for tetrahydrofuran (THF) degradation by a newly isolated Rhodococcus sp. YYL that tolerates high THF concentrations. Single factor experiments were undertaken for determining the optimum range of each of four factors (initial pH and concentrations of K(2)HPO(4).3H(2 ...
