Exploring the bio‐functional potential of polysaccharides from Morchella esculenta: A mini review

open access: yesFood Biomacromolecules, EarlyView.
Abstract Polysaccharides, natural polymers of monosaccharides, exhibit diverse biological activities due to their molecular structures and functional properties. Morchella esculenta, a precious edible mushroom with higher market value, is also rich in polysaccharides (MEP) and holds potential as a bioactive compound with therapeutic and functional food

CO2 Storage Site Selection: A Comprehensive Review of Current Approaches

open access: yesGreenhouse Gases: Science and Technology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Global warming, driven by increasing anthropogenic greenhouse gas emissions, has emerged as a critical environmental concern. Carbon capture and storage (CCS) technology offers a promising solution for reducing CO2 emissions, but its effectiveness depends on identifying suitable candidates that can ensure safe, long‐term storage of CO2.

Global Burden of Disease Due to High Body Mass Index and Projections to 2040: A Study Based on the Global Burden of Disease Study 2019

open access: yesThe International Journal of Health Planning and Management, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background The prevalence of high body mass index (BMI) contributes to an increased risk of various diseases. This study aimed to identify global disease burden trends associated with high BMI from 1990 to 2019 and forecasts up to 2040. Methods Using data from the global burden of disease (GBD) 2019 study, we analysed the number and ratio of ...

Identifying Primary Stress Across Related Languages and Dialects with Transformer-based Speech Encoder Models [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
Automating primary stress identification has been an active research field due to the role of stress in encoding meaning and aiding speech comprehension. Previous studies relied mainly on traditional acoustic features and English datasets. In this paper, we investigate the approach of fine-tuning a pre-trained transformer model with an audio frame ...
