IMPDH inhibition enhances cytarabine efficacy in SAMHD1‐expressing leukaemia cells via guanine nucleotide depletion

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cytarabine is a key therapy for acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), but its efficacy is limited by the dNTPase SAMHD1, which hydrolyses its active metabolite. Screening nucleotide biosynthesis inhibitors revealed that IMPDH inhibitors selectively sensitise SAMHD1‐proficient AML cells to cytarabine.

Keratin 19 as a prognostic marker and contributing factor of metastasis and chemoresistance in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.

The Joint Distribution of Serial Correlation Coefficients

open access: yesThe Annals of Mathematical Statistics, 1949
An expression for the joint distribution of serial correlation coefficients, circularly defined, has been derived. It has been shown that this distribution possesses properties similar to those already encountered in the distribution of a single serial correlation coefficient, i.e. it is defined by different function forms for various subregions.

Establishment of a humanized patient‐derived xenograft mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer for preclinical evaluation of combination immunotherapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We have established a humanized orthotopic patient‐derived xenograft (Hu‐oPDX) mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSOC) that recapitulates human tumor–immune interactions. Using combined anti‐PD‐L1/anti‐CD73 immunotherapy, we demonstrate the model's improved biological relevance and enhanced translational value for preclinical ...

Approximate Moments for the Serial Correlation Coefficient

open access: yesThe Annals of Mathematical Statistics, 1957
The first order Gaussian auto-regressive process $(x_t)$ may be defined by the stochastic difference equation \begin{equation*}\tag{1}x_t = \rho x_{t-1} + u_t,\end{equation*} where the $u$'s are NID(0, 1) and $\rho$ is an unknown parameter. The choice of a statistic as an estimator for $\rho$ depends on the initial conditions imposed on the difference ...

Differential expression of cancer‐related genes supports prediction of poor response to first‐line treatments in T‐ALL pediatric patients with high minimal residual disease

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In the present work, we have identified a transcriptional signature based on the differential expression of six genes (BCL2&MAST4, HSH2D&LAT2, METRN&PITPNM2) that would facilitate the early detection of T‐cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (T‐ALL) patients prone to a poor treatment response and could be implemented at diagnosis, along with other risk ...

CCDC80 suppresses high‐grade serous ovarian cancer migration via negative regulation of B7‐H3

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
PAX8 is a lineage‐specific master regulator of transcription in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSC) progression. We show for the first time that PAX8 facilitates proliferation and metastasis by repressing the cell autonomous tumor suppressor CCDC80 and inducing B7‐H3 expression.

Multi-Sites Multi-Variables Forecasting Model for Hydrological Data using Genetic Algorithm Modeling

open access: yesJournal of Engineering, 2015
A two time step stochastic multi-variables multi-sites hydrological data forecasting model was developed and verified using a case study. The philosophy of this model is to use the cross-variables correlations, cross-sites correlations and the two steps ...

Factors influencing HPV vaccination intention and uptake behaviors among medical students based on the health belief model and vaccine hesitancy theory: a cross-sectional study

open access: yesFrontiers in Public Health
BackgroundHPV infection is the leading cause of cervical cancer. HPV vaccination coverage among young people in China remains low. Medical students, as a high-risk group and future health educators, are critical for cervical cancer control.MethodsA ...
