Computer simulation of a series and parallel hybrid electric vehicle [PDF]
Although the internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicle is the most popular vehicle type in the world it has serious problems relating to its exhaust emissions and the limitation of petroleum resource.

Radiotherapy (RT) response depends on the DNA repair capacity of tumor and host cells. We show that circulating tumor cell (CTC) counts and apoptosis rates before and after RT predict treatment response and outcome, which can be accessed via easily accessible liquid biopsy approaches. An Alternative Series Solution for Free Vibration Analysis of Asymmetric L-Shaped Membranes
This study revisits the freely vibrating problem of asymmetric L-shaped membranes using a three-segmented domain decomposition (3-SDD) strategy. Motivated by the need for more accurate and flexible methods, the 3-SDD strategy is compared with the ...

A urine‐based digital PCR assay targeting two hotspot TERT promoter variants detected bladder cancer with high sensitivity and no false positives in this case–control cohort. The streamlined AbsoluteQ workflow outperformed Sanger sequencing and supports non‐invasive molecular testing for bladder cancer detection.

The Faber polynomials for annular sectors and an application to the iterative solution of linear systems of equations [PDF]
A conformal mapping of the exterior of the unit circle to the exterior of a region of the complex plane determines the Faber polynomials for that region.

On the series solutions of integral equations in scattering
We study the validity of the Neumann or Born series approach in solving the Helmholtz equation and coefficient identification in related inverse scattering problems. Precisely, we derive a sufficient and necessary condition under which the series is strongly convergent. We also investigate the rate of convergence of the series.

This study shows that lung adenocarcinomas exploit developmental branching morphogenesis to acquire a therapy resistant basal‐like tumour cell state. This process was found to be regulated by combined TP53 loss‐of‐function and type‐I interferon signalling, identifying a novel axis for biomarker and therapeutic target discovery.

Combining osimertinib with the STING agonist ADU‐S100 activates innate and adaptive immunity to overcome the non‐inflamed microenvironment of Egfr‐mutant lung cancer. This combination increases NK and CD8+ T‐cell infiltration, associated with activation of the STING‐IRF3 pathway and local immunogenic cell death.

A Note on the Legendre Series Solution of the Laplace Equation for Cylindrical Problems
The mechanical modelling of cylindrical problems is addressed. A series solution is considered of the Laplace equation, in which the series terms of the stress function Φ are expressions based upon Legendre polynomials and logarithmically singular ...
