An upstream open reading frame regulates expression of the mitochondrial protein Slm35 and mitophagy flux

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Maclaurin Series Solution for Seventh Order Boundary Value Problems

open access: yes, 2023
Maclaurin series expansion which is taught at undergraduate levels and which has been previously used for the solution of initial value problem is successfully used in this paper for the solutions of seventh-order boundary value problems.

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

Accurate Approximate Solution of Ambartsumian Delay Differential Equation via Decomposition Method

open access: yesMathematical and Computational Applications, 2019
The Ambartsumian delay equation is used in the theory of surface brightness in the Milky way. The Adomian decomposition method (ADM) is applied in this paper to solve this equation.

Epigenetic blind spots – the role of DNA methylation dynamics in stem cell‐based models of embryogenesis

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Embryo‐like structures (stembryos) are an innovative tool, but they are hindered by experimental variability and limited developmental potential. DNA methylation is crucial for mammalian development, but its status in stembryo models is poorly characterized.

Mean square power series solution of random linear differential equations

open access: yes, 2009
This paper deals with the construction of random power series solutions of linear differential equations containing uncertainty through the diffusion coefficient, the source term as well as the initial condition. Under appropriate hypotheses on the data,

An unexpected alternative viologen electron mediator site in tungsten‐containing formate dehydrogenase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
An unexpected alternative interaction site for ethyl viologen was identified in formate dehydrogenase 1 from Methylorubrum extorquens. Combined mutagenesis, kinetic analysis, and docking revealed that aromatic residues near an iron–sulfur cluster enable flavin mononucleotide‐independent electron transfer, offering a framework for engineering improved ...

Series Form Solution to Two Dimensional Heat Equation of Fractional Order

open access: yesResults in Nonlinear Analysis, 2019
In this article we develop series type solution to two dimensional wave equation involving external source term of fractional order. For the require result, we use iterative Laplace transform.
