ABSTRACT Zika (ZIKV) and dengue (DENV) viruses are major public health concerns in Brazil. Understanding population serological status, particularly in pregnant women, is vital for estimating their spread. This study assessed ZIKV and DENV seroprevalence in pregnant women and the transplacental transfer of antibodies to their newborns, crucial for ...

Serological Evidence of Cetacean Morbillivirus Infection in Common Bottlenose Dolphins in Japan
ABSTRACT This study revealed that 41.9% of wild‐born Japanese captive dolphins (18 out of 43 dolphins) have neutralizing antibodies specific to cetacean morbillivirus (CeMV). This finding indicates a widespread yet undetected CeMV infection among wild dolphins in the waters around Japan, occurring without notable epidemic or mass mortality of dolphins.

Age-associated differences in clinical manifestations and laboratory parameters during a dengue virus type 4 outbreak in Argentina [PDF]
Infection by any of the four dengue virus (DENV) serotypes produces a wide spectrum of clinical illness in humans. Differences in clinical manifestation and severity have been associated with secondary heterologous infection, patient age, and virus ...

Establishment of a Novel Caco‐2‐Based Cell Culture System for Human Sapovirus Propagation
We identified that both Caco‐2 cells and in‐house Caco‐2/Cas9 cells are susceptible to human sapovirus (HuSaV) infection. By performing two rounds of single‐cell cloning from Caco‐2/Cas9 cells, we successfully established a highly susceptible cell line, designated as Caco‐2MC.
