Low-grade (papillary) serous carcinoma of ovarian type is rare in males and histologically identical to low-grade serous carcinomas in female patients. We present a case of paratesticular low-grade serous carcinoma in a 42year old male, with the highly ...

Differential epithelial and stromal LGR5 expression in ovarian carcinogenesis
Lgr5 has been identified as a marker of the stem/progenitor cells in the murine ovary and oviduct by lineage tracing. However, little is known regarding LGR5 expression or its functional significance in human ovary tissues.

Amplicon profiles in ovarian serous carcinomas [PDF]
AbstractOvarian serous carcinoma is the most common and lethal type of ovarian cancer and its molecular etiology remains poorly understood. As an ongoing effort to elucidate the pathogenesis of ovarian serous carcinomas, we assessed the DNA copy number changes in 33 high‐grade serous carcinomas and 10 low‐grade serous tumors by using a genome‐wide ...

Aging and uterine serous carcinoma.
Uterine serous carcinoma (USC) is closely associated with advanced age in patients. The p53 signature (p53S) is considered the earliest indication for the presence of carcinogenesis of USC. Based on our previous studies, the presence of p53Ss have almost always been found in elderly women and are suspected of being responsible for the imbalance between

Primary peritoneal low-grade serous carcinoma in a man: A case report and review of the literature
Primary peritoneal serous carcinoma (PPSC) almost always occurs in women, though rare cases have been reported in men. To date, only three cases of PPSC occurring in male patients have been published in the English literature. Here we describe the fourth

Stage I Clear Cell and Serous Uterine Carcinoma: What Is the Right Adjuvant Therapy?
This single-center study aimed to retrospectively evaluate the survival outcomes of patients with FIGO stage I clear cell and serous uterine carcinoma according to the type of adjuvant treatment received. The data were collected between 2003 and 2020 and

A rare path in a common symptom: A case report on serous carcinoma of the cervix
Although commonly seen in the ovary, fallopian tube, peritoneum, and endometrium, the serous carcinoma histology is considered a rare subtype when seen in the cervix. The prevalence of cervical adenocarcinoma, including serous carcinoma, varies between 5%

Low-grade Serous Ovarian Carcinoma [PDF]
AbstractIn the early 2000s a two-tier grading system was introduced for serous ovarian cancer. Since then, we have increasingly come to accept that low-grade serous ovarian carcinoma (LGSOC) is a separate entity with a unique mutational landscape and clinical behaviour.
