Do gadolinium-based contrast agents alter 23Na T1 relaxivity in glioma? [PDF]
Incomplete fluid suppression on fluid-attenuated inversion-recovery 23Na-MRI (IR-23Na-MRI) was observed in three patients undergoing IR-23Na-MRI after gadolinium contrast injection, as part of a brain tumour imaging study.

The Brescia panel and The International System for Reporting Serous Fluid Cytopathology
The distinction between mesothelial proliferations and metastatic adenocarcinoma in serous fluids remains a common and vexing issue. Whereas cytomorphology allows the identification of one cell type (mesothelial) over another (epithelial), this may be ...

Emerging role of ARHGAP29 in melanoma cell phenotype switching
This study gives first insights into the role of ARHGAP29 in malignant melanoma. ARHGAP29 was revealed to be connected to tumor cell plasticity, promoting a mesenchymal‐like, invasive phenotype and driving tumor progression. Further, it modulates cell spreading by influencing RhoA/ROCK signaling and affects SMAD2 activity. Rho GTPase‐activating protein

Preoperative systemic inflammation predicts postoperative infectious complications in patients undergoing curative resection for colorectal cancer [PDF]
The presence of systemic inflammation before surgery, as evidenced by the glasgow prognostic score (mGPS), predicts poor long-term survival in colorectal cancer. The aim was to examine the relationship between the preoperative mGPS and the development of

Inhibition of CDK9 enhances AML cell death induced by combined venetoclax and azacitidine
The CDK9 inhibitor AZD4573 downregulates c‐MYC and MCL‐1 to induce death of cytarabine (AraC)‐resistant AML cells. This enhances VEN + AZA‐induced cell death significantly more than any combination of two of the three drugs in AraC‐resistant AML cells.

Adaptaquin selectively kills glioma stem cells while sparing differentiated brain cells. Transcriptomic and proteomic analyses show Adaptaquin disrupts iron and cholesterol homeostasis, with iron chelation amplifying cytotoxicity via cholesterol depletion, mitochondrial dysfunction, and elevated reactive oxygen species.

Central serous chorioretinopathy: A review
Central serous chorioretinopathy (CSC) is the fourth most common non‐surgical retinopathy associated with fluid leakage. The pathogenesis is not yet completely understood, but changes in the choroid, sclera and RPE have been described associated with ...

This study characterizes the responses of primary acute myeloid leukemia (AML) patient samples to the MCL‐1 inhibitor MIK665. The results revealed that monocytic differentiation is associated with MIK665 sensitivity. Conversely, elevated ABCB1 expression is a potential biomarker of resistance to the treatment, which can be overcome by the combination ...
