EVALUATION METHOD FOR PARASITIC EFFECTS OF THE ELECTRO-OPTICAL MODULATOR IN A FIBER OPTIC GYROSCOPE [PDF]

open access: yesНаучно-технический вестник информационных технологий, механики и оптики, 2016
Subject of Research. The paper proposes an original method for studying the parasitic effects in the electro-optic modulator of the fiber optic gyroscope. Proposed method is based on the usage of a special waveform phase modulation signal. Method.

SCALE FACTOR DETERMINATION METHOD OF ELECTRO-OPTICAL MODULATOR IN FIBER-OPTIC GYROSCOPE [PDF]

open access: yesНаучно-технический вестник информационных технологий, механики и оптики, 2016
Subject of Research. We propose a method for dynamic measurement of half-wave voltage of electro-optic modulator as part of a fiber optic gyroscope. Excluding the impact of the angular acceleration on measurement of the electro-optical coefficient is ...

A 7-8 GHz Serrodyne Modulator in SiGe for MIMO Signal Generation [PDF]

open access: yes2014 IEEE Compound Semiconductor Integrated Circuit Symposium (CSICS), 2014
An 8-bit 360o sawtooth modulated phase shifter is used to apply very small frequency offsets to RF signals between 7 and 8 GHz. Offsets between 6 Hz and 10MHz can be obtained. Such frequency offsets can be used to generate orthogonal signals, which are required in e.g. MIMO applications. Each undesired frequency component is suppressed to below -30 dBc.

Time‐varying optical vortices enabled by time‐modulated metasurfaces

open access: yesNanophotonics, Volume 9, Issue 9, Page 2957-2976, February 2020., 2020
Abstract In this paper, generation of optical vortices with time‐varying orbital angular momentum (OAM) and topological charge is theoretically demonstrated based on time‐modulated metasurfaces with a linearly azimuthal frequency gradient. The topological charge of such dynamic structured light beams is shown to continuously and periodically change ...

Realization of fiber-based laser Doppler vibrometer with serrodyne frequency shifting [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
We demonstrate a laser Doppler vibrometer (LDV) based on the serrodyne frequency shifting technique. A proof-of-principle system is implemented on the basis of fiber-optic components but opens the way toward an ultracompact integrated LDV system on a ...

Efficient large-scale multiplexing of fiber Bragg grating and fiber Fabry-Perot sensors for structural health monitoring applications [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Fiber Bragg gratings have been demonstrated as a versatile sensor for structural health monitoring. We present an efficient and cost effective multiplexing method for fiber Bragg grating and fiber Fabry-Perot sensors based on a broadband mode-locked ...

Baseband Radio over Fiber Aided Millimeter-Wave Distributed Antenna for Optical/Wireless Integration [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
A Baseband Radio Over Fiber (BROF) architecture is proposed, where upto four Radio Frequency (RF) carriers can be generated, while using the heterodyne photo-detection of only two optical signals. This proposed BROF architecture has a star-like structure
