Serum ferritin in hematologic malignancies
American Journal of Hematology, 1980AbstractSerum ferritin was measured in a variety of hematologic malignancies at presentation, in remission following therapy, and in relapse. Ferritin was strikingly increased in all acute leukemias at presentation and in relapse, in the blastic crisis of CML, and in smouldering leukemia.

Serum Ferritin in Megaloblastic Anaemia
Scandinavian Journal of Haematology, 1978Serum ferritin concentrations have been estimated in 30 patients with untreated megaloblastic anaemia, 27 with Addisonian pernicious anaemia. A significant difference was found between the mean serum ferritin level of the 27 pernicious anaemia patients (330 μg/l) and of 22 normal control subjects (164 μg/l) (P < 0.05 > 0.02). There was an inverse

Serum ferritin and malignant tumours
Medical Oncology and Tumor Pharmacotherapy, 1984Increased concentrations of serum ferritin are common in patients with malignant disease and appear to be a non-specific response. The present evidence does not suggest that serum ferritin assay is useful either for specific diagnosis or monitoring of malignant disease. A special role for acidic isoferritins in malignancy remains to be substantiated.

Serum Ferritin and Iron Enrichment
New England Journal of Medicine, 1974On April 1, 1970, the Federal Register contained a proposal to require that the dose of iron added to enriched flour be increased to a level 400 per cent of that now added (present level, 3 mg of iron per 100 g of flour, and proposed level, 13 mg per 100 g).
