AbstractInvestigations of rheumatoid factors by a hemolytic plaque forming cell assay of blood lymphocytes with sensitized sheep cells have suggested that the rheumatoid factors released from the cells have higher affinities for human IgG than do the rheumatoid factors measured in the patient's serum.

Globulins resembling rheumatoid factor in serum of the aged
The American Journal of Medicine, 1963Abstract One hundred and twenty-one serum samples from persons over sixty-five years of age were tested by the Hyland RA slide test and by the latex fixation test. It was found that 46 per cent of the samples gave a positive reaction to the Hyland RA slide test and only 42 per cent to the latex fixation test.

The laboratory identification of serum rheumatoid factor in the dog
Journal of Comparative Pathology, 1987A modified Rose-Waaler test with sheep red blood cells coated with canine IgG was found satisfactory for detecting rheumatoid (antiglobulin) factor (RF) in dog serum. Low titres of RF were found in some normal dogs. Most dogs with rheumatoid arthritis were positive for RF at titres of 1 in 40 or greater.

IgG Rheumatoid Factor in Serum of Rheumatoid Arthritis Patients
Scandinavian Journal of Rheumatology, 1976The ability of isolated IgG and F(ab)2 fragments to agglutinate IgG-coated latex particles was used as a test of IgG-RF activity. No definite differences could be proved between controls and RF-negative RA patients, whereas the latex titres of IgG and F(ab)2 of sero-positive RA patients were higher. The IgG latex activity was recovered in the fractions

Subcutaneous rheumatoid nodules and serum rheumatoid factor without arthritis.
JAMA, 1974SUBCUTANEOUS rheumatoid nodules and serum rheumatoid factor are diagnostic criteria of definite or classic rheumatoid arthritis. They are generally associated with chronic deforming arthritis and severe systemic manifestations of rheumatoid disease. The titer of rheumatoid factor usually parallels disease severity.

Reference Values of Serum Rheumatoid Factor in Coastal Residents
Clinical Laboratory, 2013This study aims to investigate the reference values of serum rheumatoid factor (RF) in coastal residents. We collected 1,762 serum samples from 20 - 69 year-old males who participated in the population-based Fangchenggang Area Male Health and Examination Survey from September 2009 to December 2009.

Serum cryptococcal antigen determination in the presence of rheumatoid factor
Journal of Clinical Microbiology, 1981Sera from nine patients with cryptococcal infections and from four with rheumatoid arthritis and positive rheumatoid factor were examined for the presence of cryptococcal capsular antigen by the latex agglutination method. Ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid-heat treatment of the sera before testing possibly increased sensitivity as compared with the ...

Rheumatoid factor and serum IgG, IgM and IgA levels in rheumatoid arthritis with vasculitis
Scandinavian Journal of Rheumatology, 1976The authors report a significant increase in the rheumatoid factor titre in rheumatoid arthritis patients with vasculitis. A significant rise in IgG and IgA levels was found in uncomplicated RA, when compared with a normal population. The IgM levels were not found to be elevated in this group of RA patients.

Correlation of Serum IgA Rheumatoid Factor Levels with Disease Severity in Rheumatoid Arthritis
Scandinavian Journal of Rheumatology, 1998In the present study, the IgA rheumatoid factor (IgA RF) was assayed by ELISA in 114 sera of patients with active RA. IgA RF was found in the sera of 38 (33.3%) patients. A total of 56 disease variables were studied, differences in variables between IgA RF positive and negative patients were analyzed.
