Serum sickness-like reactions.
Cutis, 2002A serum sickness-like reaction (SSLR) to drug administration usually consists of cutaneous rash, arthralgia/arthritis, and, often, fever. This entity rarely has been discussed in the dermatologic literature. We describe the case of a 3-year-old girl with urticaria, fever, and arthralgia that appeared 8 days after starting cefaclor therapy for otitis ...

Serum Sickness and Serum Sickness-Like Reaction
2010Serum sickness is an immune complex reaction, hypersensitivity type III, to a protein, serum, or hapten. The manifestations are based on antibody–antigen complexes developing 1–3 weeks postexposure to the antigen, but sooner upon reexposure, with the presentation of a multitude of symptoms (J Microbiol Immunol Infect 34:220–223, 2001).

Serum sickness–like reactions associated with cefprozil therapy
The Journal of Pediatrics, 1994Four patients had serum sickness-like reactions during treatment with cefprozil, a new cephalosporin. Two patients had had previous mild reactions associated with cephalosporin therapy. It remains uncertain whether cefprozil-associated serum sickness-like reaction represents a unique or a class-related adverse drug reaction.
