BAGEL4: a user-friendly web server to thoroughly mine RiPPs and bacteriocins

open access: yesNucleic Acids Res., 2018
Interest in secondary metabolites such as RiPPs (ribosomally synthesized and posttranslationally modified peptides) is increasing worldwide. To facilitate the research in this field we have updated our mining web server.

Refining the NaV1.7 pharmacophore of a class of venom‐derived peptide inhibitors via a combination of in silico screening and rational engineering

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Venom peptides have shown promise in treating pain. Our study uses computer screening to identify a peptide that targets a sodium channel (NaV1.7) linked to chronic pain. We produced the peptide in the laboratory and refined its design, advancing the search for innovative pain therapies.

Considering Interactions among Multiple Criteria for the Server Selection

open access: yesJournal of Information and Organizational Sciences, 2010
Decision-making about server selection is one of the multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) processes where interactions among criteria should be considered.

psRNATarget: a plant small RNA target analysis server (2017 release)

open access: yesNucleic Acids Res., 2018
Plant regulatory small RNAs (sRNAs), which include most microRNAs (miRNAs) and a subset of small interfering RNAs (siRNAs), such as the phased siRNAs (phasiRNAs), play important roles in regulating gene expression.

The power of microRNA regulation—insights into immunity and metabolism

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
MicroRNAs are emerging as crucial regulators at the intersection of metabolism and immunity. This review examines how miRNAs coordinate glucose and lipid metabolism while simultaneously modulating T‐cell development and immune responses. Moreover, it highlights how cutting‐edge artificial intelligence applications can identify miRNA biomarkers ...

Non-interactive fuzzy private matching [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Two fuzzy private matching protocols are introduced to allow a client to securely compare a list of words to a server list, and discover only those words on the server list that are similar to his, while the server learns nothing.

A Large Closed Queueing Network Containing Two Types of Node and Multiple Customer Classes: One Bottleneck Station

open access: yes, 2004
The paper studies a closed queueing network containing two types of node. The first type (server station) is an infinite server queueing system, and the second type (client station) is a single server queueing system with autonomous service, i.e.

The Saccharomyces cerevisiae amino acid transporter Lyp1 has a broad substrate spectrum

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In Saccharomyces cerevisiae, Yeast Amino acid Transporter family members mediate the import of amino acids, ranging from substrate specialists to generalists. Here, we show that the specialist transporter, Lyp1, has a broader substrate spectrum than previously described, with affinity constants spanning from micromolar to millimolar.
