A DISCRETE-TIME Geo/G/1 RETRIAL QUEUE WITH SERVER BREAKDOWNS

Asia-Pacific Journal of Operational Research, 2006
This paper discusses a discrete-time Geo/G/1 retrial queue with the server subject to breakdowns and repairs. The customer just being served before server breakdown completes his remaining service when the server is fixed. The server lifetimes are assumed to be geometrical and the server repair times are arbitrarily distributed.

A REVIEW ON BULK QUEUE WITH SERVER BREAKDOWN MODELS

This review article presents an overview of bulk arrival and bulk service with breakdown QM’s. The concept of bulk arrivals and bulk service has a new significance in the world of reality. To prevent the problem of traffic congestion, researchers must concentrate their efforts on developing models and processes to address the issue.

Lévy-driven Fluid Queue with Server Breakdowns and Vacations

2015
In this paper, we consider a Lévy-driven fluid queueing system where the server may subject to breakdowns and repairs. In addition, the server will leave for a vacation each time when he finds an empty system. We cast the queueing process as a Lévy process modified to have random jumps at two classes of stopping times.

New results in retrial queueing systems with breakdown of the servers

Statistica Neerlandica, 1994
We consider retrial queues with servers that are subject to active breakdowns. First, we concentrate on Markovian queueing models. For the multiserver case we obtain sufficient conditions for ergodicity. For the singleserver case we introduce new performance measures: the “orbit” idle period and the “orbit” busy period.
