Sesame oil. I. Properties of a solvent‐extracted sesame oil

Journal of the American Oil Chemists' Society, 1950
SummaryData and information have been presented with respect to the extraction, processing characteristics, and the chemical and physical characteristics of oil obtained from white sesame seed.Extraction of sesame seed with hexane yielded a crude oil low in free fatty acids and in color.

Is sesamaol present in sesame oil?

Contact Dermatitis, 1987
Sesame oil has been reported to contain sesamolin, sesamin and sesamol as contact allergens. A female patient had chelitis due to sesame oil in a lipstick. She reacted to sesamolin and sesamin, but not to sesamol. We earned mil analysis of the sesame oil by high performance liquid chromatography.

SESAME OIL TUMORS

Journal of the American Medical Association, 1943
In 1920 Mook and Wander1described the occurrence of painful, tender, slowly growing tumors in 6 patients who had been previously subjected to serious operations and had received camphor in oil injections as a stimulant. Several similar cases have since come under our care and we have seen others in clinical meetings in various cities throughout the ...

Sesame oil. VII. Optical rotation and the minor components of sesame oil

Journal of the American Oil Chemists' Society, 1951
SummaryThe optical rotations of four crude sesame oils were calculated on the basis of their known contents of sesamin, sesamolin, and phytosterols and the reported optical activities for each of these components. The calculated optical rotations were compared with those observed for the oils in the absence of solvent and were found to agree remarkably

Multivariate adulteration detection for sesame oil

Chemometrics and Intelligent Laboratory Systems, 2017
Abstract Multivariate and untargeted adulterations are real cases of oil adulteration in practice. In this study, one-class support vector machine (OC-SVM) was used to build the model for detecting multivariate and untargeted adulterations of sesame oil. The predictive model was subsequently validated by an independent test set. The results indicated

Composition of sesame hull oil and its effects on flavour and quality of sesame oil

International Journal of Food Science and Technology
Abstract In this study, sesame hull oil (SHO) was extracted to characterise its composition. SHO was heated to determine the volatiles and their effect on the quality of cold-pressed dehulled sesame oil (SO). Seventeen fatty acids, four lignans (1088.65 mg/100 g), tocopherols (284.17 mg/100 g) mainly in the γ-form, and sterol (1722.16 mg/
