Sesame (Sesamum indicum L.) response to preemergence herbicides

Crop Protection, 2009
Abstract Field studies were conducted during the 2004 and 2005 growing seasons in the south Texas and the High Plains of Texas sesame growing areas to evaluate sesame tolerance and weed control following various preemergence herbicides. All herbicides controlled Amaranthus tuberculatus at least 89%, while diuron, flumioxazin at 0.14 kg ai/ha, and S ...

Somatic embryogenesis in Sesamum indicum L. cv. nigrum

Journal of Plant Physiology, 1997
Summary Cotyledon, root and subapical hypocotyl segments of 2–3 mm in length were excised from 6–21 day-old seedlings. Calluses were induced on Murashige and Skoog (1962) medium supplemented with 3 % sucrose, 0.8% agar and 2mg/L 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid.

GENETIC VARIATION AND GENOTYPE-ENVIRONMENT INTERACTION IN SESAMUM (Sesamum indicum. L.)

Madras Agricultural Journal, 1985
The genetic parameters viz.. genotypic and phenotypic variations, genotypic and phe- notypic coefficient of variation, heritability and genetic advance as percentage of mean were assessed from nine varieties of sesamum. Genotype x environment interaction was not significant for height up to first capsule, number of branches, number of capsule on main ...
