Protein pyrophosphorylation by inositol pyrophosphates — detection, function, and regulation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Protein pyrophosphorylation is an unusual signaling mechanism that was discovered two decades ago. It can be driven by inositol pyrophosphate messengers and influences various cellular processes. Herein, we summarize the research progress and challenges of this field, covering pathways found to be regulated by this posttranslational modification as ...

Set-membership filtering and a set-membership normalized LMS algorithm with an adaptive step size [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Signal Processing Letters, 1998
Set-membership identification (SMI) theory is extended to the more general problem of linear-in-parameters filtering by defining a set-membership specification, as opposed to a bounded noise assumption. This sets the framework for several important filtering problems that are not modeled by a "true" unknown system with bounded noise, such as adaptive ...

Function‐driven design of a surrogate interleukin‐2 receptor ligand

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Interleukin (IL)‐2 signaling can be achieved and precisely fine‐tuned through the affinity, distance, and orientation of the heterodimeric receptors with their ligands. We designed a biased IL‐2 surrogate ligand that selectively promotes effector T and natural killer cell activation and differentiation. Interleukin (IL) receptors play a pivotal role in

Rough Approximations of Complex Quadripartitioned Single Valued Neutrosophic Sets

open access: yesJournal of New Theory, 2021
The quadripartitioned single valued neutrosophic set consisting of the real-valued amplitude terms: truth-membership grade, contradiction-membership grade, ignorance-membership grade and falsity-membership grade, cannot handle complex-valued information.

Probabilistic Set-Membership State Estimator [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Interval constraint propagation methods have been shown to be efficient, robust and reliable to solve difficult nonlinear bounded-error state estimation problems. However they are considered as unsuitable in a probabilistic context, where the approximation of a probability density function by a set cannot be accepted as reliable.

Multiple ETS family transcription factors bind mutant p53 via distinct interaction regions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Mutant p53 gain‐of‐function is thought to be mediated by interaction with other transcription factors. We identify multiple ETS transcription factors that can bind mutant p53 and found that this interaction can be promoted by a PXXPP motif. ETS proteins that strongly bound mutant p53 were upregulated in ovarian cancer compared to ETS proteins that ...

Sequence determinants of RNA G‐quadruplex unfolding by Arg‐rich regions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We show that Arg‐rich peptides selectively unfold RNA G‐quadruplexes, but not RNA stem‐loops or DNA/RNA duplexes. This length‐dependent activity is inhibited by acidic residues and is conserved among SR and SR‐related proteins (SRSF1, SRSF3, SRSF9, U1‐70K, and U2AF1).

Low-Complexity Reduced-Rank Beamforming Algorithms [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
A reduced-rank framework with set-membership filtering (SMF) techniques is presented for adaptive beamforming problems encountered in radar systems.

PICALM::MLLT10 translocated leukemia

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This comprehensive review of PICALM::MLLT10 translocated acute leukemia provides an in‐depth review of the structure and function of CALM, AF10, and the fusion oncoprotein (1). The multifaceted molecular mechanisms of oncogenesis, including nucleocytoplasmic shuttling (2), epigenetic modifications (3), and disruption of endocytosis (4), are then ...
