SET-MEMBERSHIP NONLINEAR FILTERING WITH SECOND-ORDER INFORMATION
IFAC Proceedings Volumes, 2005In this paper, we develop a numerically efficient scheme for set-membership prediction and filtering for discrete-time nonlinear systems, that takes into explicit account the effects of nonlinearities via local second-order information. The filtering scheme is based on a classical prediction/update recursion that requires at each step the solution of a

Set-membership filtering strategies for multipulse coding
2006 IEEE International Symposium on Circuits and Systems, 2006This paper describes a new class of multi-pulse coders based on bounded-error identification. Multi-pulse coders provide effective representations of speech signals by extracting linear prediction parameters and approximating the effect of excitation signals with strategic sparse impulse sequences.

Set-membership filtering for complex networks with constraint communication channels
Neural Networks, 2022The set-membership filtering is studied for a class of multi-rate sampling complex networks with communication capacity constraint. For reducing communication load, the weighted try-once-discard scheduling protocol is utilized to transmit the most needed measurement. To improve the filtering performance, a novel mixed compensation method is proposed to

Quantized set-membership filtering with communication constraints
2013 IEEE International Symposium on Industrial Electronics, 2013This paper addresses the set-membership filtering problem with communication constraints for a class of discrete time-varying systems in the presence of unknown-but-bounded process and measurement noises. The dynamic coder and decoder are proposed to model the digital communication channel to transmit the error between the current measurement output ...

Set-Membership Filtering with Quadratic Inequality Constraints
2019 International Conference on Control, Automation and Information Sciences (ICCAIS), 2019This paper investigates the problem of set-membership filtering for nonlinear dynamic systems with general nonconvex inhomogeneous quadratic inequality constraints. We propose an ellipsoidal state bounding estimation in the setting of unknown but bounded noise.

A nonlinear set‐membership filter for on‐line applications
International Journal of Robust and Nonlinear Control, 2003AbstractA guaranteed estimator for a general class of nonlinear systems and on‐line usage is developed and analysed. This filter bounds the linearization error, then applies a linear set‐membership filter such that stability guarantees hold for nonlinear systems. A tight bound on the linearization error is found using interval analysis.

XOR-Satisfiability Set Membership Filters
2018Set membership filters are used as a primary test for whether large sets contain given elements. The most common such filter is the Bloom filter [6]. Most pertinent to this article is the recently introduced Satisfiability (SAT) filter [31]. This article proposes the XOR-Satisfiability filter, a variant of the SAT filter based on random k-XORSAT ...

Noisy Bloom Filters for Multi-Set Membership Testing
ACM SIGMETRICS Performance Evaluation Review, 2016This paper is on designing a compact data structure for multi-set membership testing allowing fast set querying. Multi-set membership testing is a fundamental operation for computing systems and networking applications. Most existing schemes for multi-set membership testing are built upon Bloom filter, and fall short in either storage space cost or ...

Set-membership recursive least-squares adaptive filtering algorithm
2012 IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech and Signal Processing (ICASSP), 2012A new set-membership adaptive filtering algorithm is developed based on the exponentially-weighted RLS algorithm with a time-varying forgetting factor that is optimized at each iteration by imposing a bounded-magnitude constraint on the a posteriori filter output error.
