Adenosine‐to‐inosine editing of miR‐200b‐3p is associated with the progression of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
A‐to‐I editing of miRNAs, particularly miR‐200b‐3p, contributes to HGSOC progression by enhancing cancer cell proliferation, migration and 3D growth. The edited form is linked to poorer patient survival and the identification of novel molecular targets.

Investigating the cell of origin and novel molecular targets in Merkel cell carcinoma: a historic misnomer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study indicates that Merkel cell carcinoma (MCC) does not originate from Merkel cells, and identifies gene, protein & cellular expression of immune‐linked and neuroendocrine markers in primary and metastatic Merkel cell carcinoma (MCC) tumor samples, linked to Merkel cell polyomavirus (MCPyV) status, with enrichment of B‐cell and other immune cell

State and Unknown Terrain Estimation for Planetary Rovers via Interval Observers

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, 2023
Herein, the problem of state and unknown terrain estimation is considered, where the unknown planetary terrain parameters, e.g., terrain stiffness and ground height, are inferred from how it affects rover motion through vehicle‐terrain interaction.

Integrated genomic and proteomic profiling reveals insights into chemoradiation resistance in cervical cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
A comprehensive genomic and proteomic analysis of cervical cancer revealed STK11 and STX3 as a potential biomarkers of chemoradiation resistance. Our study demonstrated EGFR as a therapeutic target, paving the way for precision strategies to overcome treatment failure and the DNA repair pathway as a critical mechanism of resistance.

Adaptive Bloom filter [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
A Bloom filter is a simple randomized data structure that answers membership query with no false negative and a small false positive probability. It is an elegant data compression technique for membership information, and has broad applications.

Emerging role of ARHGAP29 in melanoma cell phenotype switching

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study gives first insights into the role of ARHGAP29 in malignant melanoma. ARHGAP29 was revealed to be connected to tumor cell plasticity, promoting a mesenchymal‐like, invasive phenotype and driving tumor progression. Further, it modulates cell spreading by influencing RhoA/ROCK signaling and affects SMAD2 activity. Rho GTPase‐activating protein

Efficient set-membership filtering algorithms for wireless sensor networks [PDF]

open access: yes2016 IEEE International Conference on Wireless for Space and Extreme Environments (WiSEE), 2016
The paper discusses three main adaptive filtering algorithms with partial updates and low computational complexities that converge fast and have a significantly better mean square error (MSE) performance than their non selective-update versions when they are tuned well.

Simultaneous State and Parameter Estimation Based Actuator Fault Detection and Diagnosis for an Unmanned Helicopter

open access: yesInternational Journal of Applied Mathematics and Computer Science, 2015
Simultaneous state and parameter estimation based actuator fault detection and diagnosis (FDD) for single-rotor unmanned helicopters (UHs) is investigated in this paper. A literature review of actuator FDD for UHs is given firstly.
