Dual Set Membership Filter With Minimizing Nonlinear Transformation of Ellipsoid [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Automatic Control, 2022
In this paper, we propose a dual set membership filter for nonlinear dynamic systems with unknown but bounded noises, and it has three distinctive properties. Firstly, the nonlinear system is translated into the linear system by leveraging a semi-infinite programming, rather than linearizing the nonlinear function.

A probabilistic interpretation of set-membership filtering: application to polynomial systems through polytopic bounding [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Set-membership estimation is usually formulated in the context of set-valued calculus and no probabilistic calculations are necessary. In this paper, we show that set-membership estimation can be equivalently formulated in the probabilistic setting by ...

Dual Set-Membership State Estimation for Power Distribution Networks Under Event-Triggered Mechanism

open access: yesFrontiers in Energy Research, 2022
This article is concerned with the set-membership state estimation problem for power distribution networks (PDNs) over a resource-constrained communication network under the influence of unknown but bounded (UBB) noises.

Set-Membership Fuzzy Filtering for Nonlinear Discrete-Time Systems [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Systems, Man, and Cybernetics, Part B (Cybernetics), 2010
This paper is concerned with the set-membership filtering (SMF) problem for discrete-time nonlinear systems. We employ the Takagi-Sugeno (T-S) fuzzy model to approximate the nonlinear systems over the true value of state and to overcome the difficulty with the linearization over a state estimate set rather than a state estimate point in the set ...

Convolved Feature Vector Based Adaptive Fuzzy Filter for Image De-Noising

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2023
In this paper, a convolved feature vector based adaptive fuzzy filter is proposed for impulse noise removal. The proposed filter follows traditional approach, i.e., detection of noisy pixels based on certain criteria followed by filtering process. In the

Nonlinear Adaptive Filtering With Kernel Set-Membership Approach [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Signal Processing, 2020
This paper develops nonlinear kernel adaptive filtering algorithms based on the set-membership filtering (SMF) framework. The set-membership-based filtering approach is distinct from the conventional adaptive filtering approaches in that it aims for the filtering error being bounded in magnitude, as opposed to seeking to minimize the time average or ...

Set-membership filtering and a set-membership normalized LMS algorithm with an adaptive step size [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Signal Processing Letters, 1998
Set-membership identification (SMI) theory is extended to the more general problem of linear-in-parameters filtering by defining a set-membership specification, as opposed to a bounded noise assumption. This sets the framework for several important filtering problems that are not modeled by a "true" unknown system with bounded noise, such as adaptive ...

A survey on set-membership filtering for networked control systems under communication protocols

open access: yesSystems Science & Control Engineering, 2018
In recent years, the set-membership filtering problem has received extensive research interests due to its engineering significance to estimate a set which includes the true state of the system rather than a single vector.
