An upstream open reading frame regulates expression of the mitochondrial protein Slm35 and mitophagy flux

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.

Hydrogen Production Technologies Evaluation Based on Interval-Valued Intuitionistic Fuzzy Multiattribute Decision Making Method

open access: yesJournal of Applied Mathematics, 2014
We establish a decision making model for evaluating hydrogen production technologies in China, based on interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy set theory.

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Power Aggregation Operators of Interval-Valued Atanassov-Intuitionistic Fuzzy Sets Based on Aczel–Alsina t-Norm and t-Conorm and Their Applications in Decision Making

open access: yesInternational Journal of Computational Intelligence Systems, 2023
Aczel–Alsina t-norm and t-conorm are important t-norm and t-conorm, and they are extended from algebraic t-norm and t-conorm. Obviously, Aczel–Alsina t-norm and t-conorm are more general than some existing t-norm and t-conorm.

Organ‐specific redox imbalances in spinal muscular atrophy mice are partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotides

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

General algorithm for equilibrium problems and set-valued operators [PDF]

open access: yesFixed Point Theory, 2018
Summary: In this paper, we introduce and study a general algorithm to approximate a common element of the set of solutions of a system of equilibrium problems and the set of common fixed points of an infinite family of quasi-nonexpansive set-valued mappings. We prove strong convergence of such algorithm in a real Hilbert space.

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Operators Based On Multiple Generalized Set-Valued Neutrosophic Quadruple Sets [PDF]

open access: yesNeutrosophic Sets and Systems
In this study, as a generalized form of multiple valued neutrosophic numbers and neutrosophic quadruple numbers, multiple generalized set-valued neutrosophic quadruple numbers and sets are defined and their basic properties are given.

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

Generalized Implicit Set-Valued Variational Inclusion Problem with ⊕ Operation [PDF]

open access: yesMathematics, 2019
In this paper, we consider a resolvent operator which depends on the composition of two mappings with ⊕ operation. We prove some of the properties of the resolvent operator, that is, that it is single-valued as well as Lipschitz-type-continuous. An existence and convergence result is proven for a generalized implicit set-valued variational inclusion ...
